The Marsh King's Daughter

I was not expecting too much of this movie but man was I wrong! This is on my top ten list of movies now. Amazing storyline and different then a normal thriller movie. Absolutely loved it!

This film was a great psychological thriller. I honestly did not expect it to be this good. I highly recommend watching this film.

The damage what we believe as opposed to the truth can ruin you as an adult when you realize someone you trusted manipulated your view. Sometimes it’s too late when you realize the truth. Reminded me we only have ONE life to live. There are no dress rehearsals.

Really liked this movie. Was not sure what to expect, got sucked right in until the end. Would recommend for a grown up movie night at home.

I understand it's difficult to include everything thing from the book, but there is so much content missing that it takes away from the film. Daisy Ridley is an amazing actor, and she portrayed the adult Helena well. There wasn't enough of the background of her upbringing included in the film. Her mother played such a tiny role in the book but was even smaller in the movie. The fact that Helena's final understanding of how much her mother truly loved her and the acknowledgement of this by visiting her grave with her family at the end of the book but was completely cut out of the movie was a major disappointment. In my opinion the movie started badly with Helena having a regular job instead of selling her homemade jams as in the book, then ended badly by not coming to terms with her mother's actions when they were living on the ridge. Maybe instead of a movie, this should've been filmed as a limited series. Honestly, I should've waited for this to be streamed instead of purchasing the movie. The greatest part about this movie was Daisy Ridley's portrayal of Helena. Jacob should've been played by someone else.

Good movie. I'm not big into sitting still for the entire duration of a movie, it usually takes me 2-3 nights to finish one but I watched this one from start to finish and enjoyed it.

It was an ok movie. Kept me interested for the most part. It wouldn’t be one i would just love to rewatch.
