Quick Easy
I thought this was a good quick book to keep your kids minds going during the summer. One page read and 5 questions about what they read. My son thought the topics were interesting and didn’t take him long so didn’t feel like homework! 😆

Story selections are boring to my 11-year-old son
I purchased this for my 11-year-old son who is home-schooled. He has ADHD and his attention to detail/reading comprehension skills are horrendous. The book advertises that it "includes engaging selections to entice reluctant readers." I had hoped that this book would contain brief, fun stories that would hold his attention, but also improve his retention skills when reading. The book is okay, but I found that many of the passages are boring for him. What 11-year-old boy wants to read about political history? I don't know...maybe a few, but not mine. There is a place for learning that, but I was hoping that this would be a little lighter. Also, some of the questions were confusing even for me. I've had to check the answer key just to see what they were looking for so I could explain it to him.We decided to drop doing this one because he really dreads it and try to find one with stories that appeal to him more.
