Elite Water Filter Replacements for Brita® Water Pitchers and Dispensers, Reduce Chlorine and Bad Taste, BPA free

This was advertised as a filter that is the same as a Brita filter. It isn't. Yes, the round top fits into the hole in the pitcher, but the bottom doesn't anchor in the cross at the bottom of the pitcher. Actually, it doesn't even reach that part - it's 3/4" shorter in length than a Brita. Because it doesn't anchor in the cross, when you pour, especially when the water is getting low, the filter can easily fall out of the ring. Also, it feels much lighter than a Brita filter. Don't know if it works yet because I'm waiting for my current filter to expire before I change it, but for the false advertising I'm giving it a 4. When I learn if it works well or not I'll update this review.

I wasn't sure if it would fit into my Brita water pitcher but it did. It has the slight insert to fit it right into place. Water filtered through it as it did with the original filter. I did place the filter in a glass of water before putting it into the pitcher as that is how I have replaced prior filters.

I don't have a way to test performance such as resulting water quality, but these fit perfectly in my Brita pitcher and seem to filter at about the same rate. The Elite filters are kinda slow, taking about 15 minutes to filter what I pour into the holding tank into the pitcher. Although they advertise these cartridges as having "steady and fast flow", it wasn't any faster than what I'm used to.The water tasted just fine after filtering. I would probably be saving about $3 per cartridge using these as compared to the original filters, which is OK but not fantastic, roughly about 20% off. I'll probably stick with the originals if I can find them within 10% of the price of these.

Fit fresh Brita elite filter replacement. The filter looks very similar to my Britta elite and so far works as good as the original. There are no claims on the packaging. Brita claims Yeah, yeah I’ll get it out. Don’t worry reducing by three times contaminants and lead and only two filter changes a year. Fresh claims just that it was tested and certified for water quality.

Visually, it's identical to the manufacturers filter. Although the water tastes okay, there's no way to certify how well the filter cleanses impurities in the water without a lab analysis.
