The bottom reservoirs come with no biomedia so when setting up the tank, you can remove them.This filter system is working well with an air pump to keep tank water clear.Clean every 2 weeks or 1 month to keep "good bacteria" in the aquarium.Satisfied with the quality, and it's green!

Think these are great, perfect for my Axolotls as they don’t like too much movement. I filled bottom with broken media and charcol in a tiny net bag I made and added to plastic at bottom in plastic area under filter. So easy to clean . I just use double recommended amount of them for my tank and I do regular water changes and daily poo clean up with turkey baster as it’s for Axolotls and they can be dirty the same as fish if cleaning not kept regular.

I run this in my main tank just in case I need to set up a hospital tank in a hurry. Been running it for a while now and it's alright. My pleco uses it to hang out on and my corys feed off it. Plus creates a bit more surface movement.
