This hummingbird feeder has worked out very well for me. It is made in Texas USA and very sturdy. It's also easy to disassemble and clean. Its is made of glass and a two part plastic base. I wonder if the one star reviews that I've seen for it on Amazon are from competitors but there's no way to tell.Here are some tips and tricks that got the hummingbirds coming on the regular to our feeder and flowers.Don't use food coloring - why? because clear nectar lets you see if it is cloudy. If the nectar is cloudy change it! That cloudiness if from bacteria and the hummingbirds are done with it then. I've not seen any preservatives listed in commercial nectar so the bright red color might help sell the product but it didn't help me get hummingbirds. That leads to the next tip...Make small batches - the ratio of table sugar to water is 1 to 3 so three parts water to one part sugar. I only use 3/4 cup water and 1/4 cup sugar. That lasts a couple of days here in Indy for me before they drink it or it goes cloudy. I boil the water and clean the feeder but it doesn't really delay the cloudiness. Probably the hummingbirds themselves introduce the bacteria.Ants! - at first I had issues with ants. Dead ants and no hummingbirds. So here are a couple of tricks. I used Vicks vapor rub on the hanging hook and then hung the feeder from 10# monofilament fishing line. Apparently they don't like one and can't climb the other. Since then 0 ants.Mexican Sunflower - I planted this annual to attract monarch butterflies. It did that but also the hummingbirds love it too. So buy some seeds and plant them in the spring near your feeders. They grow about five feet tall and have many red/orange blooms that look like daisies (same size and form). The year after you can plant bunches more from the harvested seed heads. What could be better than monarchs and hummingbirds?So when it comes to hummingbird feeders trust in the USA and Mexico to get it done plus some mono fishing line. And make your own darn nectar and pitch it when it gets cloudy -old man out!

I have had hummingbird habitats for over twenty years and tried various feeders for my faithful friends. The Best-1 32oz Hummingbird Feeder is the easiest feeder for refilling, quick dismantling and washing. The feeder consists of four parts: the 32oz glass bottle, the round metal holding the glass bottle with another metal piece for hanging the feeder and the red plastic base with a lid with eight tiny holes and plenty of room for the hummers to perch on. The feeder is easy to scrub and clean. It does not have any hard to reach areas where bacteria or mold could grow. It is made to last for a long time. Occasionally, I have seen one or two bees feeding on the sugar water through the holes. It is fun to watch the bees literally bending vertically and trying to push their head into the holes to drink the nectar! I have set up equal opportunity feeders in my backyard and would love to help with the diminishing bee population anyway I can! During winter time, I fill half of the bottle with sugar water but in spring and summer I fill it to the rim to accommodate larger population of hummers. The hummers love this feeder due to easy access to the nectar and the round perching area. Following are some tips for using this feeder:1. Hang this feeder with an Ant Trap (see my review) filled with water. You will not have any ant problems. If hung in a shady area or under a tree, the water in the Ant Trap will not evaporate quickly.2. Hang your feeder in a shady area next to grass. During severe wind storms, your feeder will land on the grass and the glass bottle will not break.You can always purchase replacement parts from the manufacturer as opposed to the whole unit. I would highly recommend this feeder.

I have several models and the hummingbirds have loved this one. Difficult to wash without the proper brush, compared to others. It is MANDATORY to strengthen the grip, otherwise it will surely break.

This is the best feeder we have ever owned. It is easily cleaned, has no flowery parts to clean. The birds have a great place to perch. I have two different bottle sizes. One for early in the year, and the larger one for breeding time. I have recently bought two more for gifts.

If you have lots of hummingbirds this is the only feeder to buy. The indicator on the side helps to identify how many birds you are feeding in a day. Larger birds (woodpeckers, Orioles) don’t tip the feeder when they sit on it so your fluid does Not run out all over the ground (or your deck). The rings allow for a number of hummers’ to sit side by side and feed. We have had mothers feed I g their babies at the feeder and teaching their babies how to eat from the feeder - very cute.
