I am now in control. And lovin' it.
The remote for one of our TVs died, so I purchased the Philips Universal Remote Control to replace it. After a brief set-up I found that it controls the volume and channels. Works well, easy to set up, and does all I would expect it to do. It is very reasonably priced. I did find one quirk, when looking at the on-screen guide, if I wish to go from channel 43 to channel 45 it is necessary to press the '-' button as opposed to what I would expect, the '+' button. I have resolved this problem by holding the remote backwards and upside down during such operations. I have done some additional experimentation as to the universality of the remote. For example, I have found it has no apparent effect as a remote starter for my car, is of no value whatsoever with PowerPoint presentations during ZOOM meetings, and it cannot operate a lawn mower. In this I am bitterly disappointed and suggest revising the name to "Philips Universal Remote Control FOR TELEVISIONS AND CABLE AND STREAMING STUFF" (emphasis added) to avoid similar future disappointments to others. To close with positive notes, it does a fine job controlling the TV and Roku box in the kitchen, and that's great. And to my delight I have found it has a profound effect on my neighbor, R. Philips, who has just finished mowing my yard (the 'A' button), and next will be washing our cars (the 'B' button). I've yet to assign the 'C' or 'D' buttons, but I think leaf and snow removal may be good candidates, come fall and winter.

Is a great device, just may require multiple codes.
Seems to be a great remote for my Philip Android 5704 series TV, Pioneer Amp, and Sony BluRay, but Fire TV required multiple undocumented codes. The reason is twofold: there are no codes for a Fire TV 4-series (bedroom) and the decimal button (#12) bottom right) does not work so only way to select over 100 OTA channels is to enter the top level digits (38) & it will go to (38.1) and can scroll from there.. Even the Philips-Android TV required some learning. For example there is no "up one level" key (go from Amazon Prime selections to "home"). Fortunately I discovered that the tiny "Exit" (#4) button would serve that purpose. Meanwhile at the Fire TV there are no codes for "Amazon", "Fire TV", or "Foxconn" so had to use the "search function". Initially came up with 2851 that could do almost everything BUT could not turn on from cold. Seems the Fire TV has a two stage turn off, a "soft" or "sleep" mode that lasts about 5 minutes and 2851 could not turn on from that. However then went into a "cold" off and the remote could not turn back on. After some work I found that 1091 or 6091 could turn the cold TV on but could not do much else. Fortunately the Philips remote allows multiple TV codes on any button so I have TV set to 2851 and STR set to 1091. Complicated but works. Marked down one star for the complexity but has almost enough capability to make up for it. ps light colored ones make the many buttons easier to pick out. I use velcro dots on OK and Last.

Perfect all-in-one remote
I got this for a replacement remote for a DVD player. When I received it I was a little worried because the 3 device buttons it has is: TV, streamer and audio so I wasn’t sure I could put a DVD player on any of those buttons. I read the setup instructions to find that you can put any device on any button which was great. What made this remote perfect for me was the words on the back of the package that said: preprogrammed for Samsung and Roku. I was using this on a Samsung TV with a Roku device. I was able to add the DVD player on the audio button so now I only have 1 remove and I only had to program it to one device. The best part is that the remote ACTUALLY WORKS on all my devices because it has all of the buttons I need for each device! And it was $6 delivered the next day! I bought a $7 universal remote for my aunt’s TV the day before to run her TV and DVD player but she still has to use some buttons on her other TV remote because it doesn’t have all of the buttons she needs. That universal remote was also preprogrammed for Samsung TV so you would think it would have all of the buttons needed to work her Samsung TV. She also has a Roku device with her Samsung TV so I ordered her one of these remotes, too. One of the best and inexpensive purchases I have made on Amazon!

Works well
This works better than the remote that came with my tv. I have an Insigna tv that came with a tiny, easily lost remote. This is a lot bigger and easier to hold. It functions as it should as was very easy to set up. Only con is that it doesn't come with batteries but that's to be expected given it's price point. I originally used the tv codes list to set the remote up only to note that the code I used worked but not for all functions. I ended up doing the remote code search option, bit of a pain as I needed to do so 3 times before it worked properly. Both ways of setting the remote up is a pain but the 2nd option auto searches the codes for you so you don't have to manually figure out which code prompts full functionality. This is a great remote. I like it, it works for all major TV brands and can be easily reset for another tv model if needed. Price is reasonable so overall a great buy! Keep your manual and your tv codes list.

This Remote doesn't do what I bought it for
I bought this remote specifically to use with the Spectrum TV app on a Roku streamer. The Roku remote has no numbers or last chan button or even chan +/- buttons. This remote has all of those, but they don't work on the Roku, or at least they don't work on the Spectrum app. So, this remote turned out to be useless to me. The only way to change the Spectrum/chan on a Roku is by going through the chan guide and finding the one you want - every time. Voice commands don't work for Spectrum on Roku either, so I can't just tell it what chan to go to. I was hoping I could at least type in the number of the chan I wanted and then use the Last button to go back and forth between two chans or use chan +/- to bypass the chan guide, but none of that works with this remote. Also, the Exit button on this remote does what the back arrow button does on the Roku remote, but the Exit button is tiny and hard to find, so the Roku remote actually works better for Spectrum than this remote. If this remote cost more, I would return it. But for $10 I might as well keep it. Maybe I'll have a use for it in the future.

Replaced all the functions except one
Woks well. Be careful not to press the AUD button that is just below the power button or you will need to reprogram it. Not a big deal. I have the code memorized. Has all the functions I need except I seem to remember the one before had a closed caption button. Not a big deal and my memory might be wrong.

Truly universal
This is a good quality universal remote with decent ergonomics and features. More importantly, it supports a broad list of brands and devices. I was hoping to use it with a 20 year old tube TV for which there was no hope of finding an original remote. To my surprise this remote supports it perfectly. It's great that you can still buy a remote for outdated devices like CRT TVs and VCRs. Programming the device is a simple affair. I recommend going for a known brand like Philips if you have concerns about brand or device compatibility.

Very impressed!
It took me less than a minute to program the remote for my TV and cable box, and now one inexpensive remote does it all. Minor inconvenience is that you need to select TV or Stream to choose between the TV and cable box, but that is expected and better thn having to pick up a second remote.
