Gourmanity Tartufi Whole Black Truffles in Brine, Preserved Black Summer Truffles (Tuber aestivum Vitt.) from Italy [1.76oz Jar]

I'll be honest, I'm not well versed in the flavor and authentication of truffles and this is my first experience using truffles at home. I've had many restaurant dishes that were superb so I wanted to re-create them. Expensive, sure....is it a good value, well..... I'm not sure but the jar will not go to waste. I'm quite happy with my purchase, I like the flavor, I cook for my small family and they seem to like it too. The packaging was great and had many layers of bubble wrap. No leaking. They are in a brine so I cannot comment truly on freshness but they are thin sliced and hold up well in a dish.

The product is very tasty & very enjoyable. If you never had truffles before its a great experience. If you love mushrooms in general you will really love truffles!!!Had some issues with my first experience & actually went bad two times, luck of the draw I guess. The seller even though thw mistakes where out of their cintrol, 100% took responsibility & fixed the mistakes promptly as any business should. A lot of other business could learn a lot from good sellers like this!!Highly recommend giving them a try well worth it to me!

Good texture, flavor and amount for the price

We are huge truffle fans, and we hunt them when we can, so we've had them as fresh as they get. I ran across these when I was searching truffle items on here and had to give them a try. They are okay. They're definitely lacking the full punch of a fresh truffle, and the texture is weird, probably due to the brine preservation. Would I buy them again, yes, in a pinch, to add some authenticity to a truffle dish, but they wouldn't be the main show.

We made homemade tagliatelle, we cooked a small amount of chopped pancetta in butter, added parmesan and vegetable stock, then added chives. Tossed in the fresh pasta to coat, then topped each dish with parmesan and thinly sliced black truffles served a nice Sauvignon Blanc...and it was a beautiful summer pasta dish...truffles made the whole dish very special.We also made soft scrambled eggs with truffles, we used RH recipe....yummy.Will absolutely buy these again!

It’s a good product, but not as flavorful as other brands I’ve bought before

Excellent product. It has the flavour and the texture of the real thing. It may be on the pricey side, but better this way than the impostors who sell regular mushrooms under the truffle pretence.

I've ordered truffles previously in same and different forms, in this case the truffles were not as flavorful as I like. On the other hand, these truffles were slightly less expensive. So I am not put off completely, but just like any other aromatic food ie. blue cheese, horseradish, garlic I want to enjoy the whole full deal of culinary possibilities. Also I am open to suggestions of other alternatives
