Easy setup for a serious Chromebook experience. Pairs perfectly with my Google Pixel 9 Pro XL making cross-device computing a breeze. It's app based & Web based interface are very similar to any Android experience & while more expensive than most Chromebooks, it's capably running Linux (using the developer option during setup). The screen has great display, with very solid hinges for tablet mode use. No issues with heat dissipation & while the storage isn't huge, it's capable for most tasks- also easy to extend via the USB C ports. Fast charging, great battery life so far. Really enjoying this for daily use in place of my Windows 11 pc

I was wondering the heck i was going to get for $300 bucks. Acer did not disappoint me. I love the size, the feel and the quick response of the system. The display did not disappoint me either. I was also not expecting the protective case, thank you. I use it all day to surf, read, write, basic stuff. Nice built not flimsy Definitely worth buying.

After having an Acer Aspire laptop for almost 8 years, it was time to replace it with a new machine. I typically only use my laptop for basic tasks - surfing the web, email, WhatsApp, facebook, etc - so my technical needs are not heavy. I didn't want to spend $600+ on another laptop, so I considered a Chromebook instead since a good one can be had for around $275-350 when on-sale.The most value from this machine will be for users who are already Android smart-phone users. While Android and Chrome OS are different operating systems, my Google Pixel phone and Acer Chromebook are completely in-sync - my photos, emails, notes, apps, and data are completely integrated. Having a Chromebook actually makes it much easier to organize my photos and complete tasks that are sometimes more difficult on a phone/small screen. While this is still a useful tool for folks looking to have a basic, stripped down, laptop for email, surfing the web, and social media - this machine really shines for existing Android users. I'm happy I made the switch from Apple to Android, as this has made this Chromebook a much more valuable machine for me.My complaints are limited - for whatever reason, Hulu Live TV does not work on this Chromebook (but does work on my Android based Google Pixel). That's really my only major complaint so far...I did add a 4 port USB hub - which was only $6 on amazon - so that I have more USB ports available when using my Chromebook (it only has 1 USB port and 1 USB C port for connecting devices). I'd recommend also getting one as you may need it to connect additional devices.A nice bonus was that my Chromebook 514 came with a travel case/sleeve, which was a nice touch and not something I expected. So that was a good bonus.So I think this product is good for someone like me that already uses an Android smart-phone and wants a cheap laptop-type device to complete basic tasks and supplement a smart phone. I wouldn't buy this machine if you are expecting a Windows based laptop that can complete any and all tasks. I plan on using this for when I travel and to have a separate non-work device in my office to use. For the price, I have few complaints.

This is my first chromebook after always having laptops, and OMG do I love it! I use it for doing telehealth work with patients, and it's SO MUCH faster and reliable than when I was using my laptop. No lags or watching the little circle spin around when I start it or shut it down, and the second I click on an app it opens and is ready to go. I have the touchscreen, but I also use my wireless mouse for some things. When it notifies me of an update it says it may take a few minutes, but it's never taken even a full minute. Great camera and sound quality as well. Never going back to Windows as long as these are available!

Tuesday morning, November 26, I bought an Acer Chromebook Plus 514 from Amazon. It arrived the evening of the next day. I set it up the next morning. Thanksgiving! Setup took a little time, but most of it was painless.I finally hit a hard barrier when trying to activate the AI Premium Plan, which is advertised on Amazon, and everywhere else I'd looked, as free for the first year. Every route I tried landed me somewhere with a button that said "Get Perk."Pressing those buttons always took me to an advertisement for Chromebook Plus models.Eventually, I admitted defeat and contacted Google support through chat. After an hour and a quarter of explaining the problem, getting put on hold, sending screenshots, copy-and-pasting terms of the offer, and following directions from Roxie, the Google support rep on the other end, he said he would have to refer the problem to "the engineers" to find out why I had no way to sign up for the offer.He said he would contact me by email in 24 to 48 hours. 27 down, 23 to go.I can't believe I'm an unusual case, so either (1) Google support is ignorant of the fix for a common issue, or (2) Google (or Acer) has blundered. Google should be able to move to fix either problem quickly.Will it? I'll post updates as a public service.

I got this for my wife who's old Chromebook was past the support date and anyway was painfully slow. Because she already had a Chromebook, the learning curve was quick and easy. This one is much faster, and she likes the touch screen which the old one didn't have. I've had good luck with Acer products. I have an old Acer laptop which had an obsolete and unsupported Windows OS. I loaded Linux Mint Xfce and while it doesn't exactly zip it's much faster.
