A brilliant, slightly disturbing read
Foucault takes you into an amorphous world somewhere between philosophy and poetry - the text is a hypnotising, thought-provoking read. (That's quite appropriate for the subject!) A brilliant study.

Faucault has to be read. This is a brilliant historical study of how we define and deal with 'madness' in society. Both badly and dishonestly.

Difficult without the Gap
This is not an easy read, but that was made even worse by the omission of pages 113 to 144! Having read and notated up to page 113, I really don't want to have to return it.

Against the Sovereign enterprise of Unreason, medical science is impotent...
This is a modern classic, every body needs to read this text, especially any medical professional with the prefix "psych-" in front of their job title.
