Know what you're purchasing
As many of the other reviews call out, there are 2 Sponges per pack. With the amount of these that we have to use for my husband's surgery after care, the packaging is pretty inconvenient. On the other side of the coin, if you don't need several Sponges then having more than 2 would be inconvenient. They work for what we need them to but if I have to reorder more for after this runs out I won't purchase this one again.These are in sterile packs.These will work for wet/dry packing wounds.There's nothing actually wrong with this product, it is just the packaging versus what your needs are.

2=1
Note that the description says 8 ply, 2 per pack. This is ok if you usually just need one gauze pad. Most gauze pads are 16 ply, or twice as thick as these. Ok, but thin unless you just use both pads together.

they work for what I need them for
During the healing process it was recommended that I use gauze sponges to protect my surgical incision from becoming irritated by the abdominal compression belt I have to wear. I couldn't believe how expensive they were at the local discount box store - so I checked on here and saw that these had 2 sponges per pack and 100 packs per box at an amazing price. I haven't been disappointed, they work perfectly fine for what I am using them for. However, I don't know about the 2 sponges per pack claim. It doesn't look like 2 sponges to me. To be honest, they're actually pretty skimpy and thin to even count as 1 sponge. But like I said, they're good for covering a wound or incision and protecting it from chafing by clothing or compression belts, but I wouldn't use one for cleaning a wound or other purposes of that sort, they're pretty rough and have a wide weave so I don't think they'd be good for applying medicine, either. An OK product at a good price.

Soft, strong absorbent, Good Value
Bought these because I had a terrible grease burn on my forearm. Had to change my bandage 2x a day.I'm glad I chose this brand. Not only was it absorbent, it was soft so it didn't hurt my burned skin. And it was porous enough to allow my skin to breathe, even with the salve medicines I was using.Honestly, it was a good value so I didn't feel guilty about changing my dressings twice a day.I certainly would buy them again,but, honestly, I'm hoping I won't need these types of bandages again!

for the boy scout
My first aid kit literally has 3 groups of materials. Basic, More than basic, trauma. Reliable and easy to use cleaning products may be needed depending on what is happening and so must be considered as a necessary part in my kit. So having this in my kit even gets more ready for about anything that I may have to do as a first responder to members of my family

Top quality gauze sponges
I use these to clean an open wound. They are the thickest and softest gauze I have found. Highly recommend these sterile gauze pads!

Good quality for daily use
These are about the same quality as what I have used in a hospital setting. We generally don't worry about the quality, we just grab a couple more packs. Consider that the purchasing dept. is going to buy at the lowest price. That said, I needed packs of two for soaking in a strong disinfectant to use before and after a treatment. These work just fine for my use as well as a daily dressing.
