Yes but you would need a USB convertor

Q: Can the usb-c connector on this headset be connected directly to a android mobile phone whilst maintaing all functionality i.e. mic and mute?

No. It does not work with my Pixel 2. I guess that the headset is simply an analogue device using usb connection instead of a digital device. Similar to the way you would need a special DAC (digital analogue converter) to use regular headphones with usb-c.

I use it for Skype calls and the connection is a USB

Q: Is this compatible with the new Fire HD 10 tablet?

The HD 10 has a micro USB port while these headphones have a type A USB connector. You'd have to buy an adapter to use them. While I'm aware that some peripherals can be used using this method (a mouse or keyboard for example), I have no idea if the headphones would work. Sorry.
