Midsomer Murders: Series 24 [DVD]

While I preferred John Nettles, the entire series is great!

I discovered this British program a few years ago and finally have the entire series on DVDs. I could hardly wait for series 24 to be released and once it arrived, I wasted no time in devouring it! I loved it so much, that I watched all four episodes twice. That inspired me to go back and watch the entire series again from the beginning with series one! This program is such a great way to unwind at the end of the day! I love the plot lines and most of the time I have no idea who done it until the ending reveals it. As an American, I've had to occasionally Google some of the language terms that are unfamiliar, so it's been a very entertaining and enjoyable experience. I am very hopeful there will be a series 25 next year!

This series still is going on and continues to deliver.

If you like murder mysteries you should buy MidSomer Murders. They're not gory and take place in a little English community.

Episode 4, Climate of Death, is vintage Midsomer Murders and hilarious. I wish the writers would find a way to make Rooster, the larger-than-life oilman, a returning character. Claws Out, episode 3, has its funny moments, with Sarah chasing Paddy in background scenes. That was a good touch. The Devil's Work, episode 1, is sad and touching. I love episodes with old families and their problems, and I like the idea of creativity/art helping us rise above circumstances. I wish the murders had stopped after the first two. But if only the bad guys or the not very likable people got murdered, I suppose we might forget that murder is NOT a good thing. Betty finally got some lines. About time! Book of the Dead, episode 2, is, in my opinion, the weakest. Jamie is not one of my favorite characters, but I didn't like Fleur and Barnaby being mean to him. It wasn't funny, didn't add to the story, and caused me to downgrade Fleur from my favorite character to near the bottom. I do wish the writers would finally give Jamie a personality. That would be much more productive than the nastiness that the writer of episode 2 gave us.

Series continues to be interesting, well written with some humor and some character development.

First disk in the packet was not playable, but the second works perfectly. Registered for return and got replacement in only a couple of days. The replacement was the same!!! Update: I have now tried FOUR copies where EVERY ONE is defective in the same way!!!! I am also returning this fourth one but have given up getting a "new" set from Amazon. Buyers beware! Have ordered a "used" copy where the seller guarantees it is in very good condition. I am being persistent because I love this series and have all the other disks.

Pretty good watchable films

you can't go wrong with this series. Funny. Dry wit. I have them all and will rewatch from time-to-time.

Net als de vorige Midsomer Murders serie, is deze niet afspeelbaar in deze regio. En nu is de doos geopend en kan hij dus niet teruggestuurd worden... We hebben alle series t/m serie 21, die zijn goed, maar de rest werkt hier niet. Weggegooid geld, vooral omdat dit een geschenk was. Overigens is dit niet aangegeven op de doos en kan de verkoper hier dit dus ook niet zien.

This completes my collection. I have them all now and although I really prefer the older ones the more recent are still far above the ordinary selections availabe.

Absolutely disgusting. I put the DVD into my player and the notification came up that it is not playable in my Country. Also I had to pay an additional TEN EUROS and 14 cents for TAXES above what I had paid for the DVD itself.
