The TWO BEST TIPS for best results!
I've been using an epilator for years and I've always bought a Braun. The company has quality products, well made and the engineering is top notch. This upgrade from the last model is still rechargeable, has 3 speeds, a light so you can better see the area, etc. The major improvement is the epilator head swivels to glide over curves, i.e. your knees, calves, etc. It helps keep the head close to the skin without applying too much pressure.I'm not going over too much info you can read on your own about attachments and basic use, my review has hints to help you get the best results.First, everyone complains about the pain. Sure, it's not pleasant, but if you want smooth skin for weeks, with a major reduction in regrowth, it's worth it. There are ways you can minimize the pain as well. Be certain your hair is not too long; long enough for the tweezer head to grab, about a quarter inch or a little more. Too long and it will definitely be painful. Your skin should be clean, dry and exfoliated. If you want to bathe or shower first to open your pores, go for it. Exfoliating will bring the hairs away from your skin, making for a better result. There are 2 MOST important hints that facilitate the process to the max! I can't reiterate this enough. When running the Braun epilator head over your skin, go slowly! Applying pressure is not as important as lengthening contact with the surface area. Don't use it like a razor. I'm always in a hurry with everything, but in this case, the slower you swipe the area, the more hair it'll pull. Think of it like a vacuum, the slower you allow the machine to cover the area, the more debris it'll pick up. I guarantee if you slow down, allowing more time over your skin to grab the hair, the machine will do the best job. Now this is important!! Hold the body of the epilator at a 90° angle from the skin's surface. This also allows more contact with your skin and enables the tweezers to do the job. I'm serious about this, you'll notice a major difference in the results. Of course, hair grows in different directions, so you'll likely have to run over the skin in a few different directions the first few times, and never with the growth, always against it. The more times you use it, you'll notice far less regrowth, your hair grows back slower, finer and your skin will be smoother. You'll likely notice redness on some of your pores, but that should subside in 10-20 minutes. Never use over broken skin, rashes, etc. To prevent ingrown hairs, wipe your skin with alcohol or hydrogen peroxide before and afterward, let it thoroughly dry.If you use the machine with these tips, you'll get the best results, with less pain. You'll never go back to shaving!

Works very well, charges easily and comes in a small nice carry case.
Like this Braun 9 silk Epilator very much. I can go much faster with this as compared to my old one. Did notice a few ingrown hairs from using it. I can usually get them with a tweezer.

Never shaving my legs again!
I have had my entire body waxed, I have 4 tattoos, and I’ve had a baby. It’s safe to say my pain tolerance is pretty high. Still, I only did the waxing thing one time because it hurt like absolute hell! THIS however, is so much less painful but delivers the same smooth results as waxing. That’s just my opinion. If you’ve gotten a tattoo, the pain level is relatively similar. My best description would be that it feels like a bad cat scratch when you do the first pass over a very hairy area. Waxing is intolerable for me. I have never used an epilator before today, but it definitely is so much less painful. It’s also nice that unlike wax that you HAVE to rip off no matter what (once it’s on there’s only one way to get it off LOL), you can take your time with this epilator! You can do one small section at a time taking as much or as little hair as you want in a pass. I did one part of my leg earlier in the day to test how my sensitive skin would react, left it a few hours and then completely finished my whole legs later in about an hour. The results are amazing! You will get a little bit of irritation at first but that comes with any type of removal. The difference between other products and this epilator is that it actually goes away within an hour give or take. When I got waxed I had rashes, and shaving gives me painful razor bumps and ingrown hairs. I’ve never had laser hair removal but I’ve heard that also comes with swelling and sun sensitivity. I’ve also tried creams but none of them worked well on my thick dark body hair. Plus they smell terrible. I think this product is the only hair removal system I will ever use from now on.

Really good, with a minor issue
Overall, a solid choice. The small trimmer is a nice addition - note that there are no instructions for the trimmer in the manual, but this is a battery operated item (you'll need to twist off the bottom piece to replace the battery). The main epilator is great - the 40 tweezers really do a good job of grabbing hair. I was worried that the epilator would "break" my hair vs pulling from the root, as I have fine hair and had that issue with a previous Braun epilator. (For reference, I only use this on my lower legs and underarms). This tool works quite well - you may need to do several passes over each area, but the pain is very tolerable after the first pass. My primary complaint is the flexible head; I was looking forward to this feature as I was hoping it would give more control during application. There were no issues when using this on my lower legs, however when I shift to epilate my underarms the head of the epilator "rolls" off your skin and makes it really hard to use. I find it much harder to epilate and end up having patches of skin that don't get treated (despite multiple passes, trying to use different angles, etc.). The head won't stay in place, and as you move it across the treatment area it rolls off the skin vs staying put and doing what it needs to do. In retrospect, I would have preferred one of the "thicker" models that does not have this flexibility feature.

Works well
Works well. Move slow across your legs. No pain. Just feel like using tweezers.

Not for those with no pain tolerance
You’ve gotta be prepared for the fact it’s going to hurt and boy does it. But that’s not really why I’m giving it 3 stars, it works great on my armpits but my legs always turn out terrible like it broke the hair off in places instead of pulling it out. The last time it left my legs healing for like 2 weeks aswell.
