Question 1

The cotton is from the US. Where are the sheets imported from?

Accepted Answer

Our 100% USA grown Pima cotton bed linens are made in India. The once proud US home textile manufacturing industry no longer exists. In fact, there is not one yard of sheeting fabric woven in the US today.

Question 2

Are these truly percale?

Accepted Answer

Our 100% Pima cotton PerfectCale bed linens are woven in the traditional percale construction where the same # of threads are woven in each direction. Our sheets are woven with 250 threads in the length and 250 threads in the width. This is opposed to the cheaper, now common, sateen weaving construction where 4 threads are woven over 1.A sateen sheets pills and quickly becomes limp and raggy feeling after a few launderings. Thomas Lee hates cheaply made sateen sheets.

Question 3

I'm looking for "crisp" percale sheets that stay "crisp" even after multiple washings. Do these stay crisp or get limp & soft over time?

Accepted Answer

I have had Thomas Lee for several years, I wash them in warm water, All Detergent, rinse well. Dry on low heat, then I Iron my sheets. I use all natural spray starch, made from Vodka and water, with a few drops of Essential Oil in my preference at the time. It is called Harmony or Tranquility. They are very crisp and cool when I make my bed. Yet very soft to the touch, or should I say very smooth. After many washings mine are still crisp and cool!

Question 4

Anyone know what the recommend care is for these sheets?

Accepted Answer

Hi John,Our 100% Pima cotton PerfectCale bed linens may require a break in period that usually takes 5 to 7 launderings before they reach their natural smooth texture. This is because the ultra tightly spun cotton fibers open up or expand during the first laundering. This natural process is called 'blooming'. During this period it is recommended that 1/2 the normal amount of detergent be used and an extra rinse cycle to prevent a detergent build up which causes the fabric to feel scratchy.Once the break in period is completed these bed linens continue to grow smoother and softer without ever becoming limp or raggy feeling. The break in period can be speeded up by pressing the fabric with a steam iron which actually compresses the expanded cotton fibers.
