Very disappointed with the fragrance. Not pleasant at all, very strong and not a natural scent. I tried to use it but it ended up in the trash. Expensive disappointment.

I have been a long time devotee of juniper ridge’s bar soaps going back some 10 years or so, and while the product has undoubtedly changed since then and was actually discontinued for years, I remain a loyal customer. For those who are considering switching to juniper ridge bar soaps, here are the pros and cons in my humble opinion: Pros: They are the only soaps that I know of that truly smell like they were foraged from nature. Unlike mass produced soaps that suggest pine and moss and forest, you can actually smell the sap and soil in these bars. In the steam of my shower I can close my eyes and feel the breeze of a damp humid forest. They tend to last a long time too which helps justify the higher price. Cons: they’re definitely more expensive than your average bar of soap, the fragrance might not appeal to those looking for a more sanitized commercial scent, and it might be a little strong for those with dry skin (I have average skin and it’s perfect for me). I also feel that as much as I love this soap, it doesn’t smell as strongly as it did 10 years ago, and I was a little disappointed that the essential oils are no longer wild foraged, but ethically farmed. The company went through a growth spurt a while back which resulted in lower prices, but also lower quality, and I’d speculate that while the price is still justified in my eyes, the current economic climate has/will put pressure on this relatively small company to further cut costs which will likely result in them using lower concentrations of essential oils. End of review.

Fast shipping but the product seemed less fragrant than the ines before. Will buy again though.

I should have read the ingredients list more carefully. This soap bar contains Palm Oil which should be avoided.

Such a wonderful fragrance! My daughter, who has lived in NYC for decades, but was born in California, loves receiving this natural whiff of our local Redwoods.

Juniper Ridge Big Sur Bar Soap is a soap made with natural ingredients that has a pleasant, relaxing fragrance. The 4oz bar of soap is placed in a decorative manufacturer box that will be a wonderful addition to a homemade gift basket When met with water, the soap creates a full and frothy lather. The fragrance notes that I noticed most distinctly were sage and pine. It reminded me of the scents that you notice when walking along the short patches of trees that line parts of the coast in the early morning fog. The fragrance of the mini forests are soft yet present. When using the soap it was like having a mini aromatherapy session during my shower. It was very calming and helped me relax at the end of the night. The bubbles washed off easily leaving no trace of residue behind on my skin while the fragrance that I enjoyed so much remained softly on my skin. The soap cleansed my skin without drying it out and after several showers, I have noticed that my skin feels moisturized. It is a vegan, gluten & cruelty free product. It is a cold processed, 100% plant based product that is formulated without sulfates, dyes, parabens, preservatives, and phthalates. The soap includes clean, pronounceable, and recognizable ingredients including organic sunflower seed oil, organic coconut oil, water, organic palm oil, organic safflower seed oil, black sage essential oil, white sage essential oil, Monterey pine essential oil, sagebrush essential oil, and rosemary extract. It is Handcrafted in the USA. This is a soap with a fragrance that can be enjoyed by both men and women. I am a fan of this soap and will definitely add another order to my Amazon cart.

The desert cedar is very weak but the lather is nice and leaves skin soft. Didn't irritate my sensitive skin or areas. The bar did dissolve more than others even with a soap saver
