The taste is a little bland. The product Leland’s itself to experimentation. So add your favorite spices, more veggies, cheese, and serve over biscuits, potatoes, toast, rice, or pasta. The texture is very creamy. One can over your favorite carbs will make a meal for two. Really good deal if time or money is an issue. Bon appetite.

Let me just start out by saying that every can of Swanson's canned chicken has a label on the side called a "Label For Education". Cut it off, collect them, and then send them into your local school (or drop them off at the secretary desk). These labels can be used by the school to earn free educational equipment. It may seem like a few small labels can't help, but they do add up and make a big difference. They're free, and they're a great way to help give kiddos great educational opportunities!Okay, now let talk about the chicken, shall we? Swanson's is my go-to canned chicken, and I LOVE them. These cans are 9.75 ounces, which is a pretty big size. It can easily be used for a variety of things, and every can comes with a little recipe book on top (I'm not sure if every shipment of these cans includes the recipe books- it may just be a promotional thing that will expire, but my last two shipments have had them). The servings in these cans are GREAT. Although the chicken is packed in water, you still get A LOT of chicken in each can. Some canned products end up having more water than meat, but Swanson's canned chicken always has plenty of meat stuffed into each can.The chunks of chicken are large, evenly cut, and always good-quality meat. I've never had an issue with a single can. Every can supplies quality cuts of meat that taste great and are easy to use in a variety of meals. A few meals I've used this canned chicken in include chicken casseroles, chicken pot pie, added into salads, and chicken melt sandwiches. The chicken stays in cuts if you want it to, or it can easily be mashed and spread apart for a nice 'spread' of chicken that works well in casseroles and sandwiches.The only reason I've rated this product 4 stars rather than 5, is that the chicken is a bit too salty for my liking. I wish they'd cut the salt by about half. And although this product is WAY better than most other canned chickens in terms of saltiness, I still think they use a bit too much in their recipes. Others may disagree. I have sensitive taste buds and am a picky eater, so it's inevitable that I would find something wrong. But aside from that one small note, this product is great quality and I'll definitely be back for more!

Was so excited when I found chicken a la king. I ate it growing up and it's really hard to find now. Heat and pour on toast. Only enough for one person.

Tasty little snack if all you need is 2 teaspoons of chicken salad! This will not make a sandwich!

I use this in casseroles, added protein to cup of noodles. It's a special treat for my cats. And chicken salad.. great substitute.
