Spring Forward (Mystic Creek Book 4)

Padded out
I am a huge fan of Catherine Anderson but I was disappointed with this story. I felt there was too much padding around the main story of a dog. Even the love interest seemed to take second stage. far too much trivia on the customers at the hair salon, the type of hair styles and what the stylists have for lunch. Also, why bother to put in the bi - line about the peeping tom? It had nothing to do with the story whatsoever. All padding.I could not empathise with Crystal the heroine. her rude behaviour to her grandfather at the beginning set the tone for me. I could not understand how such a woman could hang on to issues from so long ago and allow it to affect her love for something as small as even a kitten.characters reactions to events and revelations also seemed unreal, especially when Tuck is told about his new friend Essie's past. Every character just accepts and understands! No anger, annoyance or real reactions. Unreal. This story is not a patch on her others. Usually I find it difficult to stop reading a Catherine Anderson book, but had no problem putting this one down. It just did not grab my attention.
