Honest Review - If your Director harps on you, read this!
This book was a great read. It's written simplified and gives great examples that really catch your interest like TV show writers, a doctors communication issues and stubborn parties with political views. Each day I looked forward to reading more and more about communication and shared examples with my leadership team and spouse. Best of all the cost was rather inexpensive. Kudos to the author! For my purpose it was more learning about communication to the political government level and this book helped me adjust my communication style and understand how others were manipulating conversations. So far this is the best book on communication I have read all year!

Excellent. Great ideas. Well researched. Well written.
This book, Supercommunicators, includes excellent foundational ideas for great communication sprinkled with stories that stick to help you remember each idea. So I strongly recommend Supercommunicators as a gift for anyone, but especially graduation, acceptance into grad school, first job, parents returning to work after taking a break, work gift exchange, and book club friends. Supercommunicators would be a great gift paired with Mindwise by Nick Eppler, Thinking Fadt and Slow by Daniel Kahneman, or this author’s other excellent books!I’m so glad I picked this up and actually read it- its concepts are well put together and doable with results the people in your life will Notice- right away. If you’re not a super communicator all the time- and who is, really, this book really can help you see how you can change the way you communicate so everyone gets more from your conversations everyday. For real.

First part of book was great, then it seemed to turn into filler of current hot button issues
I’d say the first 75% of this book has some very good info in it, but then it seemed to go off the rails talking about the COVID/Vaccine hesitancy dynamic. For one, I didn’t find the tips the author was trying to use through this conversation, but secondly I thought the subject matter was still “to be determined” on which approach was correct on Covid vaccines. Plus, he made several mentions to why the patients were niave/wrong but made no mention to why those patients were not as trusting of the medical field to begin with (they took the bait from Big Pharma opioid epidemic, why should we trust them to do their due diligence on these rushed to the market COVID vaccines?)I thought the author did try to “land the plane” pretty effectively by taking all views into consideration on the DEI conversations, but even that I could see a lot of readers who think not enough is being discussed about diversity will be irritated that Duhigg gave compelling arguments for both sides on that.Overall, I thought it was a decent book but felt like the last 25% brought down a very good first 3/4 of the book. I’d just stay away from any COVID talk in books unless it’s a main subject! The risk outweighs the reward!
