Graphic Ink: The DC Comics Art of Darwyn Cooke

A fabulous collection of both writing and art from Darwyn Cooke. These are stories which are different, more obscure than the ones that he is well known for. At a time when longer storylines are in vogue in comics, this selection is a display of the art of the short story. The 50s style art is another plus as well as Darwyn's own thoughts on each story.

I couldn't have been more pleased with this book there are some pieces of work here I've never seen anywhere before it's beautifully packaged .a great showcase for a modern master.

Darwyn Cooke is a genius and this books is proof of that. The book is treasure chest of amazing art and stories, and it has been beautifully designed. Sadly, the binding is horrendous. It has been reinforced with glue, which prevents it from fully opening, and in a book with so many double-page spreads, that's a sin. So, for the book itsel it would be five stars, but the binding is just one star. Let's hope a future second printing gets a better binding job, the books deserves it.I am attaching some images so you can appreciate how bad is the binding and how it ruins the spreads, and this is a book with many of those.

A great book! I'm really glad I got it. There is a lot there to read too and will keep me going for awhile. A must for any Darwyn Cooke fan providing you haven't already got most of his comics.

The best £20 you'll ever spend. When you think of what the Absolute editions cost, this thick, beautifully printed volume is a steal at the price. And for those of us who bought The New Frontier Absolute Ed, this book has the story missing from that volume. Happy Days!
