I was looking for a wonderful, long-lasting down pillow, bought this set six or seven months ago. Just want to warn you all: this pillow is very heavy, hard, yet crushes down and doesn't fluff back up rapidly. It is advertised as 100% goose down, but it feels like a down and feather pillow to me. Neither my husband nor I like it, we are mostly side sleepers, and shockingly enough, it seems like my ear goes to sleep in the night. And not the good kind of sleep! I habitually turn it when I get up and return to bed at night since the edge is crushed almost to nothing. I never write these reviews and have had to go the extra mile to write this one, but just wanted others to be aware!

They're kind of flat, but really soft. Nice size. Not much filling. They sent a 10% coupon towards my next purchase, if made within 5 days though. I wish I could afford to or I would.Update: I received an email from the Royal Hotel Company, based on my review. The great & caring representative suggested to put the pillows in the dryer on low for 20 min. to fluff them up. It worked. She also extended my coupon to one year and made it 20% instead of 10%. She also informed me that they will discount & refund 20% of this purchase. Outstanding Customer Service!!!! My daughter really liked the pillow, so I will be ordering her one & one for my other 3 kids. My husband wants the firm pillow, so maybe I'll get one next time. About four years ago, I bought two of these pillows and LOVED them. They flattened out over time so a couple of months ago, I went back to the same seller to buy new ones. The new ones are 100% terrible! Yes, pillows take a little time to "break in." Over the last two months, these pillows have actually gotten worse! My neck is a wreck. A few nights ago, I woke up from a dream that I was trying to get comfortable sleeping with my head resting on a street curb. New pillows are hard as rock slabs. I want my money back but it's too late!

I've had these pillows for almost a year and I like them very much. They are as advertised, heavy but soft and maleable and they look beautiful. My only complaint is that I am getting poked by the ends of the feathers which are very sharp. It is a little annoying because I have woken up several times having to search for the feather, find tweezers to pull it out and try to get back to sleep. Also it seems to be getting worse the older the pillow gets. I'm still using the pillows, I'm just using extra pillow cases for protection.

I knew other reviewers were warning against the fact that these pillows fall flat (not down-pillow firm, which I consider a good thing) but just FLAT and HARD!!!!!! A good, luxury pillow should conform to your head and almost wrap around it but still keep the softness underneath your head. Instead, I’m having to flip the pillows 3 and 4 times a night just to get comfortable. I have NEVER written a negative review as far as I can remember. But I couldn’t help it. This is the most $$ I’ve ever spent on pillows and I could not be more disappointed. Truly, I think these pillows were meant to entice Hotel buyers, looking to buy something they can legally advertise as “luxury” but ultimately they’re going to order 1400 pillows in one order! I’m so disappointed and dejected. But because I’ve slept on them for 3 nights, I do not feel it’s “right” to initiate a return. So, I’m just hoping to save some other poor sod who needs all night comfort without them flattening to “firm”. I would correct that statement, they flatten to HARD as all the down is pushed into the other corners of the pillow. If they flattened to firm, they would be delicious luxury pillows.

I just stepped on the scale with one of these pillows. It weighed over 3 pounds. Stuffing three pounds pf down into that little pillow makes for one VERY FIRM pillow. To the point of cement hard. You can't fluff, there's no room. I've been trying really hard to like these pillows, but I just can't, and from the reviews, that range from under-filled to over-filled, I'd say that the quality is not consistent. I will not re-order from this company and I have no idea what I'm going to do with these very heavy, very hard pillows.

I am torn on these pillows. Both my wife and I LOVED them when we first got them, now several months later I feel they go flat easily. Dont let that deter you though, I think we are just snobs and used to these pillows because when we have other people try them the normal response is "OH MY GOD". I am a back sleeper, my wife is a side sleeper and it works great for us both. I usually throw it in the dryer for a few minutes on very low to give it a nice "fluff" before bed (and a tad warm too which is nice).I would give 5 stars but (as expected) its a Down Pillow and goes flat after a few nights sleep and requires a dryer. Other then that, its great quality and a GREAT night sleep. Would give 5 stars if it was "The Perfect Pillow" which frankly doesnt exist. I have tried them all and this is hands down one of the better ones I have slept on. Right now alternating between this, and another "shredded memory foam" pillow which doesnt go flat, but also isnt as comfortable as this pillow.you wont regret getting this pillow, its still my wife's favorite, just be prepared to put in the dryer for literally just a few minutes before bed and it SHOULD be what you are looking for. (FYI - my wife's favorite pillows are the Marriott's which they dont ACTUALLY sell, the ones they do are not the actual ones. But THESE pillows come very close).This is also the pillow I bring with me traveling to ensure I get better sleep as its superior to hotel pillows hands down. Unless we hit up the Marriott, then we enjoy their heavenly down pillows.

I've bought a lot of down pillows in my time, in the dozens. These king firm are the best I have purchased. The down fill is phenomenal. It's the kind of density I would expect to pay for a single $400 pillow at my local department store; and here, you get two for almost half that price. I'm sure it's a volume thing with Amazon because these are top-of-the-line. I am using two on my king-bed, and I am purchasing four more for my massage therapy clinic for my pregnant patients and those with orthopedic issues. Yes, they are that good! I read a lot of complaints here about an odor. I have encountered no such odor, and I am hyper-sensitive to these kinds of issues. There was no need to air these out. Only down side was the $40 shipping cost. No Amazon free shipping here, but they were shipped FedEx and got here in two-days. Total price still far less than what I would have paid for one pillow of this quality. So, so happy!

It's firm. Really firm, but not terrible. A 500 thread count is not enough to keep the down/feathers inside the pillows. I frequently find feathers all over the place, so I would recommend a good pillow protector. However, with these pillows I have never found myself being poked by any of the feathers, which was a reason I threw out the old pillows. The one thing I love about these pillows is they always bounce back. They never permanently flatten, which makes them very cost effective if you can't stand a flattened pillow. A good shake and they're fluffed up just like new.

These pillows are soooo comfortable, like sleeping on a cool, fluffy cloud. I spoiled myself and bought one after my other nice pillow had an unfortunate road trip with a carsick child, and I just adore this pillow. Really light and puffy, nothing like those heavy, lumpy, cheap feather pillows you might have slept on before. I've had mine for over a year, and I can fluff it all day long and I have never seen a feather escape from it. If you want to spoil yourself with a luxury pillow, this is like a pillow Ferrari.

Fabulous pillows. High quality high thread count covers - no feathers will be popping through these covers anytime soon. And they have lots of fill in the pillow. As a few other people have commented, they were a bit firmer than I’m used to with down pillows, but I got used to it in a night or two and am just loving them! I’m very impressed with the quality and comfort. I searched for pillows in a number of bricks and mortar stores (before buying these ones) and I found down pillows of much lesser quality at double and triple the price. These are a great buy.

These pillows are perfect! I've got three cracked vertebrae and have to have sergury eventually. I had three pillows I was rotating and have tried many others. These pillows are like sleeping on a cloud and are the only pillow I use anymore. I ordered a second set, and my dad ordered a set as well. Can't think of a single negative thing to say.
