Best kayak in it’s price range!
We were looking at several different kayaks to purchase when we came across the Pungo 120 and 125. They had excellent reviews so we thought we would give them a shot. We had read several reviews where they arrived damaged, but this was not our experience. We ordered the 120 for my wife and the 125 for myself and both showed up in perfect condition. We took them out one evening just before sunset and wow what a difference from our old dolphin kayaks. These guys being 12 foot track better and are much faster on the water than our old 10 footers. The adjustable seat and cockpit make it stand out from the rest. They also have a rear bulkhead with dry storage that a lot of others don’t have. We could not be happier with our decision to purchase the Pungo.

Stable,and easy to steer
Always sit in a kayak before you buy. My first kayak, though great once I was in it, had an opening a little small for my long legs. My brother has this model. It is stable and easy to get into and handles well on the water.

Poor Quality Control
This is not my first Wilderness Systems kayak but my third. My second Pungo. First let me say that I think WS makes a great kayak and that is why I trusted in buying this boat on Amazon when I saw it on sale for $850 and free shipping. Great deal!! The boat arrived over a week later than initially scheduled, not that big of a deal. But then when I found the deep gouges in the stern and all of the small holes in the molding, bungees not fully secured, deck emblem cockeyed, and a rough edge on the outer rim of the cockpit opening, I was extremely disappointed. I was hoping to reach out to WS via my order thru Amazon but there was no such option, leaving me with no choice but to leave a one star review in the hopes that WS or the Amazon retailer that sold me this boat made on the Friday before Memorial Weekend to remedy this situation.

Decent beginner kayak
Now i do believe there are “better” kayaks out there for beginners that are cheaper. This one is supposed to be an intermediate kayak. I’m considering it beginner because i don’t get what makes it better than a beginner. I have too many complaints about it to consider it a decent intermediary yak. Those being: It’s a pain to drain; The removable console feels clunky and in the way. I don’t even bother with it. It also doesn’t lock into place; The kayak does not stay very straight when not rowing. I wanted a better yak for picture taking…straight to the weeds every time i pause; The available colors are kinda lame; The kayak is “heavy”; and it arrived in not perfect condition. There were deep gashes that we had to seal. It wasn’t going to take on water, but the sucker is brand new. Wtf… Otherwise it’s fine. I look forward to upgrading though.

Check it out in person before you buy.
I was sold on the idea of the adjustability of the seat. It's not as comfortable as I had hoped for. Still a great kayak. The console that comes with it is great because you can add things to it. It is somewhat difficult to remove, which in my mind is a good thing, you don't have to worry about it falling off. The dry well in the back is great, I can haul a good amount of gear in it and anything else I can strap to the front. This thing moves through the water great. The adjustable foot rests work fantastic. The only reason it's getting a 4 out of 5 is the seat. I typically am out for a long time when i go on my kayak. Over a long period of time on the water it just wasn't as comfortable as I had hoped. I would recommend heading to your local sporting goods store and sitting in one yourself before you spend the money.

You won’t regret it! Great kayak!
Fantastic kayak! Tracks very well in streams and rivers. I love the adjustable seats and the dashboard has lots of accessories. My wife got jealous and bought one for herself!
