These 'tomato' holders were much smaller than I thought they'd be, and they're made of very cheap plastic. Plus they're so hard to open and close that I doubt they'll last long. You have to either try and twist them open or get your nail in the seam to pop them open, which wasn't easy.They're so small that it's difficult to get the ingredient package in there; you have to kind of scrunch it up to make it fit. And then it's very difficult to close securely once the package is jammed in there.I gave it three stars in anticipation of it working as advertised, although that remains to be seen.

ShuRex produce preserver saver kit includes two reusable saver balls shaped like tomatoes plus eight refill sachets. I read about saver kits and I was very excited to test this one.I was constantly losing produce due to spoilage and I was hoping that this would keep my fruits and vegetables from spoiling so quickly.The principle behind these kits is that contents of the sachet absorb the ethylene gas emitted by the produce, thereby reducing loss and eventually saving me money.I have used this product for almost a month and it did not disappoint. Before, I could not keep cucumbers in my refrigerator for more than 1 week. After that point they would start going downhill. Now three weeks later my cucumbers still look great. Before, my carrots looked limp and wimpy in two weeks. Now they are firm and going strong. I am so happy because produce has gone up so much in the last three years.This kit was easy to assemble, the sachets need to be changed every three months and refills are well priced.I consider this kit an investment. I am happy with the performance of this product

I was happy to see this product that claims to reduce ethylene gas and keep fruits and vegetables fresh for a longer time. The package includes two perforated apple shaped containers and 8 sachets. The sachets go inside the apple shaped containers and the eight are expected to last for one year. I tried to research the active ingredients, but could not find any conclusive information about whether these items will work. Because it will take time to determine how effective they are, I will update my review at a later date. If they do indeed work as described, the cost of the item will be offset in a short time by having less wasted fruits and vegetables.

I ordered 2 kits and didn't receive the red tomato containers.

These work great to extend the "freshness" of the produce in our fridge. The design is pretty cool and they are simple to use; put the pack in, close it and forget it. Definitely recommend for your produce drawer

When setting these up, I was flabbergasted by how simple this veggie preserver set is. A plastic tomato with silica packets. Huh. Well, worth a try. I am happy to say that it is, indeed, effective, simple or not. I buy these little cucumbers that usually go bad in about 3 days if uneaten. Well, it is day 5 and there is nothing wrong with the 2 we didn't finish. This food preserver is worth it. So simple yet so worth it. If anything, I'm kinda mad I didn't think of just saving silica packets and making my own. Obviously, the silica packets are better than the ones we find in our makeup, but still.

The media could not be loaded.  These handy little produce savers are super easy to use and attractive in your fridge.The set comes with 2 plastic tomatoes that open to place the freshness pouch in, and eight freshness pouches, individually wrapped.You simply take the pouch out of the plastic wrapper and place the whole pouch into the tomato and toss it in your produce drawer. The description claims that each pouch lasts up to 3 months, and the set includes a zipper-bag to store the extra pouches in with a place to write the dates you need to change them out.Using both tomatoes at a time, there are enough pouches to last a year, but there are also instructions for ordering additional pouches.Im leaving off one star on this review only because I havent had them long enough to confirm that they last 3 months, but I have had a similar product that did last about that long. So conceptually, it should last.
