Uncle Tony's Management Tips & Jokes
P**S
Encouraging, Informative, Entertaining
Uncle Tony’s Management Tips & Jokes by Wm. Allen is exactly what it sounds like. There are 99 topics covered in alphabetical order from Action to Volunteer. Allen says in the author notes that the book started as advice for middle managers in the business world, but it grew. This is management advice for LIFE.Each topic starts with a quote from someone famous or erudite. One of my favorites is “Leadership is a privilege to better the lives of others; it is not an opportunity to satisfy personal greed” (Mwai Kibaki). I wish more politicians adhered to that philosophy! Then you get advice from Uncle Tony on that same topic. Apparently he didn’t have a lot of formal education, but he was very wise and passed a lot of his wisdom to Allen, the author of the book. Finally, each topic ends with a joke from Uncle Tony. They are clean and truly funny. My husband and I enjoyed laughs over Uncle Tony’s jokes as I read. The book is easy to read, both because of the straight-forward prose and because it’s been well edited. I don’t recall finding any typos at all.Overall, Uncle Tony’s Management Tips & Jokes is encouraging, informative, and entertaining. Five stars!
