Nice brush and hive tool. The brush is nice and soft which the bees like and the hive tool is good and strong, not flexible. Thay are a nice addition to my bee hive tool collection and I'm sure will last for years. BOTTOM LINE - Yes I would reccomend these to any beekeeper.

The hive tool is the most used tool in the beekeepers tool box and the bee brush is also helpful. This j-hook style tool is awesome to pry up frames and to align and separate them as well. Prying boxes apart is easy too. The bee brush is a softer horse hair so I'm not sure how well that will work. I'm used to firm and stiff synthetic bristles which just flick the bees off. We'll see how the softer brush works. A nice starter set of tools for the new beekeeper, but if the brush isn't popular with the bees, perhaps try the stiffer one.

These are basic beekeeping tools but are of good quality and I am pleased with them. I use the hive tool as a back up because I have one i am fond of that is still good. The brush is my hive tool box go-to now. Under 10 bucks for the pair is hard to beat. I am happy with this set.

I ordered the J-Hook and brush combo. These are two tools that every beekeeper should have in their bee toolbox. The J-Hook is a standard metal hive tool. The quality is excellent and will last you for YEARS if taken care of properly. In fact you'll probably lose it before it fails you, so it's always good to have another as a backup! The brush has a nice length to it and the bristles are secure and soft. The bees will appreciate that! The brush has a wedge on the end, but I would use caution trying to use that to separate boxes or frames. The wood on the brush doesn't appear to be of hardwood, and might break easily if used to exert pressure on something. However, with the right care this brush will last many years as well. If you're a new beek, or a seasoned one like myself, you can't go wrong with these. The combo was $9.99 at the writing of this review and that's a fair price for this tool combo. The brush by itself was listed at $6.99.

This bee brush has very soft bristles, and I expect it will be gentle on our bees. We are first time beekeepers, and won't have the hive set up for another month or so. The quality seems good with no loose bristles or rough edges. This brush is on par with what our instructors in Beekeeping school recommended, so I anticipate that it will work just fine.

This is a good value and combo pack. First, it's your typical J hook hive tool. These tools are sold everywhere but it's a quality functional tool. It performs well and lasts a long time.The brush is a really nice brush. It's the softer, lightweight brown brush that is gentle on bees. I've had the yellow plastic type brushes before and never liked how stiff they are. Honestly, I rarely use a bee brush but if I do the soft brown type is what you want, not the hard yellow type.Great value for two pieces of quality equipment for the bee yard.
