Honestly, I was suspicious at first before buying this product. Wasn't air frying more of a tweaked version of baking than a luxurious, crisp-making wallow in hot oil ?... But hey, if you don’t try you don’t know, right ?! And trying is definitely falling in love with it.Air fryers are basically “convection ovens in a bucket”, meaning that like a regular oven, they have a heating element and like a slightly fancier oven with a convection feature, they have a fan that circulates the hot air, keeping the temperature consistent throughout the cooking area. Thanks to faster-than-a-normal-oven heat transfer capabilities from that rapidly circulating air, convection ovens can shorten the cooking time of some foods, giving them a crispier exterior which is similar to fried food.I was a bit afraid of getting some small gadget that will only cook a small amount of food at a time. However, pulling the Chew Fun air fryer out of the box, I first noticed that these things was huge and will take up a lot of counter space. The XL version is a big unit, so you have to be prepared to have a good space for it in your kitchen (or where ever you want to use it). But for me it was a great surprise because I knew I could cook a lot of food at once with it (they always look smaller than they are on pictures).The Chew Fun Air Fryer XL, which boasts a 5.8 quart basket with a non-stick coating (so your food should be easy to remove after cooking). This fryer features 7 preset programs, including a roast preset, bake preset, steam preset, and more. On top of that, the fryer heats up to 400 degrees, which should be perfect for the vast majority of uses, as well as keeping your food warm or simply re-heating it. Also, I was surprised to see how quiet this device is when working. I have read other similar product review stating that their air fryer was loud, but this particular model is all the opposite.Another nice thing about this air fryer is that it comes with a recipe book. So if you’re not quite sure exactly what to cook in your air fryer, Chew Fun has you covered on that side. Last but not least is the fact that all the accessories are dishwasher-safe is really great. That way you won’t have to worry about damaging them during cleaning, or even have to deal with the greasy left over all around the basket and pan. Just toss those in the dish washer and be done with it.I had some frozen fries in the freezer, so that was what I cooked right away (along with a juicy burger) to test the device. The result was quite surprisingly great, even if a bit different from deep frying those.In conclusion, I am very happy with my new air fryer from Chew Fun and will definitely recommend it to anybody who is willing to give a try to eat more healthy.In short…GOOD:- Makes healthy food & cooking- Big 5.8 quart basket with a non-stick coating- No need to use oil at all- Quiet when operating- Features 7 preset programs- All the accessories are dishwasher-safe- Includes a small non-stick pan to cook eggs and bakery- Digital display with easy touch buttons- Does not make any bad odor when in use- Beep and shuts off automatically after cook is done- The unit turns off automatically as soon as the basket is removed from it. And will turn on again and resume cooking when the basket is inserted again in the air fryerNOT SO GOOD:- The XL version is a big unit and will take up a lot of counter space.- Unit can get REALLY hot while in use, especially around the back vent. Be sure to not use it against a wall or wood cabinet- Some food may requires to be shacked or stirred half way during cooking

I like this airfryer very much the only problem I have is that the coating on the inner basket and out basket is coming off. This air fryer works amazing. Size is perfect, you don't wanna buy a small one and keep cooking, 5.8 Quart size is perfect for my family and it also saves sometime. My wife made small crispy wheat tortillas and it came out perfectly fine (Before & after pic attached). She applied just a drop of oil on each tortilla, even if she didn't, I think it was still okay as the nonstick quality is good. The cooking time is faster than normal baking. She is excited to try more recipes. The fryer works really well and we can cook anything, be it grilling or baking. Its like a multiple cooking machine. We also tried French Fries from the recipe book that came along and it was super crispy and soft from inside. Just how I like it:D.Overall, super happy with the product.

I had to replace my old Turbo convection countertop oven because the knob for the timer broke. I'm glad I finally changed to this Air fryer after hearing good things about it. I was able to cook in 1/3 of the time I used to cook with my old cooker. It used to take me an hour to cook crunchy pork belly but with this air fryer, it only took me 20 minutes and the skin was so crunchy. I was also able to make Thai wings, egg rolls, and french fries as well. I would recommend spraying more oil to the egg rolls as it did not come out as good as it does when I deep fry it but at least it's healthier. It also came with a cookbook with about 25 recipes ranging from Fried Chicken to Cajun Fish Fingers to Chocolate Brownie. I have yet to try any of the recipes as I already have some of my own version but I use it as a guide for the cooking temperature and cooking time.

Frying Basket scratches easily so be sure to hand wash and use rubber tongs when putting food in and taking out. Makes really good french fries and chicken nuggets.

This is the item that will win "The Best Appliance" for 2018. I had zero expectations for this fryer because so many have let me down before. Crispy onion rings? "Yeah, right", I thought. I was amazed to be proven wrong. How it is done doesn't matter to me, but crispy fries and tater tots and everything that should be crispy does matter to matter. I am passed the soft non-crisp appetizers from the microwave. There had to be another way! This Air-Fryer found that other way. We air-fried our Thanksgiving turkey which had crispy skin but juicy on the inside. We air-fried our Christmas ham which gave us a unique taste and texture. We cooked several items with this Air-Fryer and I haven't been let down once. I am eating more turkey legs and roast beef for the flavor, diet, and benefits. My biggest area that has brought me the best edible foods are appetizers. I cannot explore enough appetizers in this Air-Fryer! Currently, I have not found anything that has disappointed me. This should be the product of the year and I am so thankful that it was made.

Started getting error messages after 1 week of use. Returned product.

I debated purchasing an air fryer mostly because there are so many out there it was hard to choose. I am very pleased with this but the instructions and cook book don't amount to much. It is very easy to use and clean up is a breeze. I'm glad I purchased a large one - this is big enough to put a whole chicken in. I haven't done that yet - but looking forward to giving it a shot.
