This watch has everything you might need to navigate your hill walks. The various functions take a bit of learning and practice but are easy to access once you are familiar with it. It is of very good quality and it is comfortable on the wrist. Avoid the instructions that come in the package, instead get the pdf or online version. E.g. the temperature can take 20 minutes off the wrist to give an almost accurate reading.The attached is a picture of the compass. I use this function the most.

Band is thinner and flimsier on the PRG340 also remove the auto wake function activated by wrist movement. Larger display and bright light. They did use a standard 22mm band, easy to replace. (340 on the right in photo)

I just wanted an Altimeter on a watchThe days of simple watches are gone. The good news this Casio has a button to get to the altimeter.The bad news is the instruction booklet totally ignores setting up the altimeter and barometer. After some head banging, I found links at Casio to describe the procedures. My first review attempt failed because I included the links. so go to Casio support and search on "Barometer set" and atmospheric pressure. note goes into temperature for 3 minutes BEFORE letting you set the pressure. Adjusting the Altimeter is slightly easier. Press and hold "adjust" while in the Altimeter mode, wait until the display blinks.
