Best 4K HDMI Switch, I could find at this price point, bonus 1080p scaling.
Bought 3 of them to have enough ports for my Switch, Xbox One X, PS4 Pro, Comcast 4k X1, Apple TV 4k, and so on so forth devices. Originally I had a few issues, especially with my PS4 Pro. RGB 4k output would cause the switch to reset, flicker etc. YUV output worked better but would also time out. It wouldn't work at all with my Comcast X1 box at all. I sent my findings and troubleshooting to EZCOO. They were able to update the firmware, and fix the issue.I am an engineer, with hardware experience, so I was able to flash the firmware, etc using their factory software. While we we troubleshooting EZCOO pulled the switch from the market, and updated it at their factory, so people wouldn't have this issue again. If you run into any weird issues, you may have a pre-update switch. Anyhow all my devices work now, including my Comcast X1 box. All work in 4k, and pass HDR no problem. The PS4 Pro still resets in RGB within 10 seconds of turning it on, flashes the screen, etc. But since YUV is a superior format and that works fine, I decided to keep it, and not try to re-flash, since I don't need to. So it was an inconvenience as I had to basically beta, and troubleshoot and help fix the switch. But its been the best solution, I could find at this price point, and I needed 3 of them. I also went ahead and worked with Logitech, and created a profile for this switch, so you don't have to teach it commands. I mapped the entire remote. That was also a little challenging but its done. The harmony had a little bit of trouble memorizing the commands originally.Anyhow overall I had these for a few months, they been working great, so minus the hassle of troubleshooting and having to beta something I paid full price for, as I didn't receive any discounts, and the item was pulled from Amazon in the meantime. I am giving it 5 stars, because EZCOO customer support went above and beyond troubleshooting with me. And they shipped their firmware interface controller to me to update the hubs. So because of their attention, and want to make things right, thats my review. Hopefully my work also helps some of you that buy the hub later, and if you have a Logitech Harmony remote, search EZCOO and model: EZ-MX42HAS. It will be already mapped for you.Rest, unit is solidly built, and the solder points and internals are well designed, and insulated. I had to open my hubs to flash them, so that's how I know. Thanks and good luck.

Steps if you are having difficulty in following the ones on the firmware page
After attempting to install the firmware based on the current instructions, I decided to save others the issue. I've written these out and hope it will help anyone struggling with the update. This device is fantastic. It will do what it needs but you must give it the firmware update. The following steps will assist.Steps:⦁ Unplug all attached HDMI and optical devices.⦁ Locate a USB micro cable. These are the common ones for cell phones with the slightly smaller bottom than top when looking at the end which will plug into the Matrix.⦁ Plug the matrix into an electrical outlet if not done so already.⦁ Next, plug the USB from any port on your computer to the small port on the matrix located on the front right.⦁ Windows will make the sound of a device being plugged in but no notification will pop up. Using the /\ on windows taskbar, you will see a device attached that resembles an old com port. For reference, this looks just like the icon for the file you downloaded for UARTAssist.⦁ Once you see the device in notification area, please open the UARTAssist application which you downloaded and unzipped. *** If you see a message stating use a later version, you should exit this one and download the newer version which is also on the firmware download page.⦁ Open the newly downloaded UART. If it is not opening or detected, you might need to unplug the USB and then plug back in to get the device in the notification area. Note: you open UARTAssist via the downloaded file, NOT any open commands on the notification bar.⦁ The com port locations will vary according to user and their equipment. Look for one that states USB port: device. Others will say things like COM1, COM2. One should state USB port device. Choose that one when you find it.⦁ Change the BAUD rate to 57600 speed, Parity NONE, Data 8Bit and the Stop at 1Bit⦁ This may vary and I will state both methods for next step. Once you have entered the correct info from last step, move to the bottom of the box and delete any info that is there. It could be a website like www.CN<example>.com⦁ Type the following command BUT DO NOT HIT SEND!!!!⦁ Type ISP 32 1 then hold SHIFT and hit ENTER on the keyboard. This will advance the cursor to the next line. If you hit enter, it will fail. You MUST use shift + enter to move the cursor to the next blank line.⦁ Then hit SEND to the right of what you typed.⦁ If all goes well, you will receive the message in the top part as JUMP TO ISP MODE. If you do NOT get that message, hit the CLOSE button on the left under where you entered the information for BAUD, COM, DATA.⦁ Then type again in the command box ISP 32 1 IMPORTANT NOTE: hold shift +ENTER to advance one line. Hit send. It should provide you with the JUMP TO ISP MODE and the lights will turn off the front of the matrix.⦁ Once you have received this message, we move on the next step.⦁ From the downloaded files, open FLYMCU application. This next step might vary. I tried both methods and got it to work with the second one. Leaving the UART open first and try to move on. If that does not seem to work, then CLOSE the UART window and say YES to exit when asked. You only needed this to go into USB mode.⦁ In the FLYMCU program box, change the BAUD rate to 57600 again. Under the EnumPORT, choose the same one you saw in previous steps. It will be labeled as USBPort etc.⦁ Find the unzipped firmware file you have downloaded which is a HEX file.⦁ Once that is loaded, simply hit the START ISP button on the left side.⦁ You will see info being loaded and the last line will be counting up of the data being transferred.⦁ Once it completes it will state it has finished (in strange words such as Complete, Anything OK!)⦁ Unplug USB cord and return to your entertainment area. Plug in all HDMI cables again.⦁ IMPORTANT NOTE DISCOVERED THE HARD WAY: If you are using this matrix with a PS4 PRO there is a small glitch that you need to work around. First plug in the HDMI for OUTPUT B (which is the 4k resolution) leaving the OUTPUT A empty. Once the PS4 PRO has booted and you have established that the correct resolution is set, plug in the HDMI OUTPUT A (for down scaling if you are doing such). This should work and not give issues. However you must remember this next step as most of us do not turn off our PS4 PRO. Do NOT ever turn off your HDMI OUTPUT B (4k one) BEFORE you do the HDMI OUTPUT A. (Or swich to another output as well). What this causes is the PS4 PRO has lost it signal to the 4k OUTPUT B and immediately adjusts to fit the downscaled 1080p if you are using that on HDMI OUTPUT A. If this occurs you will need to repeat the same steps above every time you start it up again. If you have HDMI 1 Input as PS4 Pro, you can switch the HDMI OUTPUT A to a different input FIRST then change the 4k one last. If not, issues with resolution as the PS4 Pro will adjust and the console will remain on 1080P even if you switch your OUTPUT B back to PS4Pro.Hope this helps. The translated instructions below are quite lacking.

Works Great
I use this with a desktop monitor and a TV from two PCs, Xbox one x, and a PS4. I use the optical out into a headphone DAC and amp (SMSL SU-8, THX AAA 789) and it works perfectly. I always had problems getting the monitor working in 4k at 60hz over HDMI but the toggle switches on the front made it work for the first time, which I didn't expect since nothing else ever did but it works now and that alone made the thing worth it. The optical only seems to work for output B which is fine. They sent me an message with a lot of useful stuff including how to update the firmware and solve common problems. I've never had anyone do that before and that's why I decided to write the review because unexpectedly good customer service.

Support 4K HDR but not ATMOS audio at same time
1st if all the device does split 4K HDR video. However the other HDMI output is not able to output Dolby ATMOS. It is a great splitter if you don’t need ATMOS, but if you do, look else where.

Expensive splitter
I bought this product to replace a splitter/switch combo, that was getting cluttered. I had 2 TVs in separate rooms running, Tv1 had 5.1 surround and Tv2 had 2ch soundbar. Everything worked. When Tv1 was on it got 5.1 sound. When Tv1 was off and Tv2 was on the soundbar put out 2ch sound. Now running this matrix prevents Tv2 from getting sound at all, unless of course I switch my source to only output 2ch audio. So my 5.1 surround is only putting out 2ch as well. So really I essentially am just using this matrix as a splitter. I’ll just go back to the clutter and save the money.

Nice dual 4K -1080P Switch box
I have paid for this box 185$ CAD. Right now (June 2020), at 89$ CAD, it is a pretty good deal. I have bought it in May 2019, and after a year of usage, it is still working great. The remote is a little flimsy, but it is still working good for now. It is the part that I was the most worry for the quality, but it is working OK.For the box itself, it works great! I bought this one because I have a 4K Tv in the living room and was looking to output my signal to another TV in the kitchen, but in 1080p. All my input signals are 4K and converter with great quality and no lag to my 1080p TV.I am using as input a 4K TV decoder from Bell, Playstation 4, Apple TV, Chromecast 4K. And another feature I like very much is that I can use two different input for my two TVs.I never had major issue with the switch box, the only thing that bug sometimes is when I switch the input, my image come purple with my Chromecast, but I change back to another input and then come back to the Chromecast and it is ok.So I rate 4.5 / 5 for this small glitch, but otherwise, I am very satisfied with the product.
