Definitely had to handle with gloves on. They smell to high heaven like mothballs on steroids. Opened them originally in the garage with both doors open and could barely breathe, even getting close to them hanging out side burns back off my nasal passages and throat. However, the deer don’t seem to care. I hung two balls at the recommended height, about 6 feet away from each other between a fence opening. Deer weren’t deterred in the least. They walked right past both, and ate all the blooms of my rose bushes. They also ate new growth at the tips of my dogwood in a separate location, the ball hanging from the lower branches. Will not buy again

This year I put it out early in spring, deer didn’t eat them. I haven’t seen them bloom for years. Now I have them bloomed everywhere.

This product does not work. The deer ate the hosta that was next to the product. Do not waste your money on this product.

The first time I used this product it seemed to work.Second time the deer ate everything!!! I replaced the firstround after three weeks. They even ate plants right next tothe peppermint oil balls.
