I bought this product not to keep out insects, but as a safe guard for my cat. We live in a block on flats and wanted something subtle on the windows as an initial barrier to stop the kitten from falling in her early stages. It was easy to put up on the window and although it did un-peal within a few hours, once we reaffirmed the pressure it has stayed in place ever since (it could be we didn't allow enough drying time after the windows had been cleaned). I would recommend too give a bit of slack when applying the mesh as it will stay up longer, on one which I tried there was too much tension and it came off almost immediately. I would put full stars if there had been more of the thicker Velcro included, not sure I understand why there are two thicknesses? Overall good product and does the job...and more in my case. Like other reviewers I wasn't overwhelmed by the quality of this product and I can't honestly imagine using it as directed and being happy with the end result. However I used it on my sash windows in a way that keeps out the insects and leaves me with a less obtrusive result. I thought other buyers might be interested to see it.Firstly I should say that I leave my windows open almost all year round, so this won't get a lot of opening and closing in my house. I'm not sure how long it would last if the windows were opened and closed a lot.I decided to cover only the opening at the bottom of the window. This allows the application of the velcro to the part of the window which is not visible. This is helpful because the velcro adhesive does remove paint as other reviewers have pointed out. I used the narrow strip to start with and will upgrade to the wider stuff if necessary.The pictures show the application and the end result. It allows the windows to open and close withe the mesh folding down. I'm pretty pleased with it so far, it seems to stop insects coming into the kitchen and moths into the bedroom.Added bonus, I have tons of mesh left so I'll be able to replace it when it gets dirty.

nice but be bit longer and thicker .cuts badly.ideal for Windows and airflow without extra flies flying through.

Ordered for my son's velux window, bit fiddly to fit, had to double over the netting for extra security against insects getting through, could do with wider stick on Velcro strips.

Does the job perfectly.no more invading wasps or flies.
