Carbon cane
Seems pretty well made and sturdy. Lighter than my aluminum version. I could have done without the “fake” carbon fiber weave finish. The Carbon is more like fishing rods in n an extruded process rather than a cross woven construction.

It was a life save on my recent trips to visit my family
After taking a wood cane on my air travels and having to convince TSA that it was safe and not dangerous weapon this fold up cane of light, strong carbon fiber, that fit into carry on luggage. It fits to gather in a blink of an eye and gives me the support I need to make it to my next destination. I am very pleased with this purchase and recommend it to any one needing a cane and traveling by air.

Rubberized grip not durable
This is a very light weight folding cane, which I have used daily for the last 4 years. The rubber tip on the cane is not particularly slip resistant or durable, but probably not any worse than competitors or most aftermarket replacement tips. For slip reistance I use the Fetterman cane tips, which are available as cushioned or slip resistant - but are heavier than standard cane tips and cost a lot. This Harvy cane handle is coated with a slip resistant rubber-like coating, which is nice, but fragile. It began scratching off almost immediately, and after 4 years use is about half missing, and gummy feeling on the remaining areas of coating. The folding mechanism is pretty good, but after 4 years seems to be a little sloppy, and the elastic band holding the sections together is a bit less secure than when new. Even when new, the elastic cord in the cane was weak enough to allow a slight slapping noise during use.All told, this has been a pretty reasonable cane, especially considering the light weight. That said, carbon fiber can weaken with age, scratches, etc. (as can aluminum canes), so I am going to use this as a spare/travel cane, and get another one for daily use - probably a non-folding harvy carbon, and without the rubberized handle.

I love this cane
I am so glad I decided to buy this cane. I needed to be able to bring my cane with me while traveling solo. But because my wheelchair doesn't have a place to mount a cane-holder, I was looking for another option and this turned out perfect. It fits perfectly in the backpack I keep on the back of my chair (the folded cane measures about 6 inches wide x 12 inches tall). It's super light, but it feels as sturdy as any of the solid canes I have. There's a thick cord running down the length of the inside of the cane keeping the segments together. With the tension in that cord, when extending the cane, the pieces snap into place practically by themselves. It's easy to pull apart the pieces to fold the cane as well. There's a separate plastic piece that slides over the folded cane to keep it from extending by itself. That leads to my one gripe with this cane...When the cane is extended, I still have to keep that plastic piece with me for when I decide to fold the cane. It's not that big of a deal, as I can just keep that plastic piece in my pocket or my backpack. But still, I think something involving a cord hanging from the handle that could be wrapped around the folded segments would be more practical. In the end, I'd highly recommend this to anyone who needs a cane. And I found it especially helpful for someone in my situation...a wheelchair user who likes to park his chair and walk some distance when the terrain is impassable for the wheelchair.

Very useful, quiet strong cane that folds up very conveniently for temporary storage
I have one important complaint about the cane: it comes packaged with a plastic clip that holds the folded up cane very conveniently in a compact manner. This is very useful when getting on a plane because it can fit in the back of the seat in front of you or it can fit nicely in a rollerboard pocket when sitting down to eat or to relax. I lost the plastic clip and called Harvy to buy a replacement and was told that they had no extras to sell (it is not listed on their website) and I was told by the lady on the phone, who had an attitude about my question, to go buy some velcro. That is a poor substitute and it takes away some of the advantage of purchasing a fold-up cane. Otherwise I would have rated it 5 stars.

Cane Sections Twist When Weight Is Applied
A good collapsible cane however since it is section inserts and receivers are smooth, the handle twists occasionally when weight is applied making it feel unstable. A better design would construct the inserts and receivers with mating longitudinal spline grooves to prevent this twisting, thereby solidifying the cane.Update November 15: In hindsight, I should have purchased a solid cane as I have yet to use the collapsing feature.Update November 26: I was using it and noticed it had started clicking as the handle nut had split axially. To repair this, the nut was unscrewed and the circumference tightly zip-tied. Epoxy was applied to the threads, the nut tightened. The zip-tie was then removed once the epoxy had cured. FYI, I weigh 138# and if this flimsy nut (which of this gauge should be metal, not plastic) cracked on me...
