This is a very sturdy, relatively heavy, nice looking wood cabinet which is what I wanted. So many of the reviews complained about the metal two drawer cabinets as flimsy and could tip over when the drawers were pulled out. No problem with this cabinet. The drawers also extend fully out so getting files at the back of the drawer is easy. Be aware that the drawers are 16" deep rather than the typical 18". It took me a little less than two hours to assemble so that is a down side, but the instructions were pretty straight forward. I don't recommend using the tool provided. Use your own Phillips head screw driver as it is easier, faster, and not hard on your hands. There is no lock. I would buy this again.

This is a sturdy file cabinet and looks good in my home office. If you order it, be prepared to spend about an hour and a half assembling it. It's not that difficult, but you will need to pay close attention to pages 2-3 of the directions, when you're installing the drawer slides. Helpful hint: The brackets only go one way, and it's nearly impossible to get it wrong if you pay close attention to the illustration. Also, you must install the bracket sections individually to their boards by taking them completely apart using the black plastic lever. The pieces fit perfectly and other than the brackets it was a very simple, but slightly time-consuming, assembly. (It helps to have an electric drill or power screwdriver with a Phillips head bit!)

The cabinet was relatively easy to assemble as long as you remain patient and follow directions (pictures) closely. In the end, I was short 3 screws (less than $1 at local hardware store) and one piece was mislabeled, but spreading parts out ahead of time made this easy to determine. As someone else mentioned, use a regular screwdriver and not the tool provided. It will save your fingers and lots of time! The end product is quite sturdy and I would recommend it.

I don’t normally write a review but I feel that I have to with this one. How can it be the same size as my old one but it only holds one third of the files. The drawers are extremely small. The file cabinet itself is flimsy and of very poor quality. The drawers are too small for my files and I have standard files. This is totally a waste of money.

The unit is attractive and fairly reasonably priced. The assembly was more difficult than necessary due to poor instructions. The assembly time was almost doubled due to the drawer slider not aligning properly despite using the prepositioned screw holes. I finally realized that my only option was to drill my own hole to get the slider in the proper position. Very disappointing.
