Perfect for intermittent PNW rains
Note: In the last 4 years, I've gone through the Columbia's Watertight II (~$45) and Paradox Rain Jacket(~$40) (both from amazon), which are both excellent value rain jackets given their quality and price.Pros:-Fit. I'm a lanky 6'2"/170lbs and I ordered a Large, for the length. The torso is a perfect fit (neither loose nor excessively baggy) and accommodates a layer underneath. The arms are a great length.-Quality. Well-build zippers, velcro cuffs, sturdy button clasp, and waterproofing has withstood many commutes and camping trips in the rain and through brush without showing signs of wear and tear nor interior disintegration. So far, seems more durable than the other two jackets I owned.-Design. It is a lightweight shell, not intended to be insulation. The rain and the sun can appear on the same day here in the PNW and the jacket can be worn for both thanks to the pit zippers and the ability to tuck the hood under the tall collar. Can be worn 24/7!Cons:-Button clasp sticks when quickly pulling apart the velcro but needs to be clasped because it will click together if left undone.-The tall collar took some getting used to.-The material is noisy when crumpled.Overall a great choice for a mid-price rain jacket and the extra features and option if you want to upgrade from the lowest-price jackets.

Ready for Travel
My old Marmot jacket is 20 years old and the inside lining, waterproofing is falling off. I've travelled the world with it, but have finally had to move on.I'm 5' 10", 170 # and this large fits right for me. I simply love it Comfortable, protective, and I think stylish, I just came back from 3 weeks in Germany and Italy facing rain, wind and shine and cold, drafty restaurants and airplanes, and it was perfect. The hood nicely rolls away out of sight in the collar. You can zip open under both arms for air. Front zipper you can cover. Velcro the cuffs. It also wears in length down into my upper thigh, and I really like how you can zip up the front collar to completely enclose your neck, especially, when air-con blows down on you.I think black looks good; it definitely worked for springtime in Europe. My old one was green which I really liked, but the black looks a tad more formal. Lightweight easy to fold up- I pack it in a zip lock bag because I like to travel carry-on light.

It will keep you dry
Great for rainy days, warm or cool days. Light and durable, packs in pack taking up little room. Great fit with just enough room for light layers. Hood can be rolled and stored in collar!

Awesome windbreaker that happens to repel water
First things first: this is just a rain shell. If you are looking for a jacket that offers any real insulating value, you need to keep looking. That said, if what you want is something inexpensive that breaks the wind, sheds the water, and breathes well, look no further. I have tested this Marmot in several Oregon rainstorms without getting a drop inside. The fit is designed for people with a pretty average build. For me, the chest and shoulders are a little more snug than I'd like, but if I trade up to an XL the waist will be way too baggy and the arms will be too long. It's acceptable, but if you are a weightlifter you will not be able to fit a thick sweater or fleece under this and still be happy with the fit.Construction is a mixed bag. You can't expect much at this price point, and everything works pretty well. Some details aren't confidence inspiring though. The snap at the bottom is too sturdy; I keep expecting the jacket to tear when I open it. The fasteners for the hood drawstring are too tiny and weak; I keep expecting them to break off in my hands, and even if they don't they are hard to manipulate even with bare fingers, much less with gloves.

Really Good Rain Jacket
I don't remember where I read about this rain jacket but I went for it because it had good reviews and it was cheaper than most rain jackets. Although it was cheaper, it definitely performed as good as jackets that are double the price. The jacket lasted me trips to 6 different countries and up more than 10 mountains and about 3 rainy seasons. It definitely put in a lot of work and it handled every drop of water like a champion. i can't recommend anything else over this jacket. Get this jacket, you'll be saving yourself money and getting an excellent jacket. The zippers are sturdy and easy to manage. I wasn't a fan of the armpit zippers but they did work when I needed extra ventilation. The elastic chords at the wrists were a perfect touch for keeping water out, and the hoodie did a great job and was easily concealable. Only problem was that I still got kind of wet from all my sweat, as the jacket didn't breath great, but then again, I'm climbing a mountain with it so it's fair.

Light and tough
I've had this jacket for almost three years. I've worn it for all sorts of different physical activities and it has served its purpose perfectly. It packs down into it's own packet for easy storage as well. Earlier this year, I fell off my bike and landed elbow first. Even with how incredible light it is, it only sustained a small hole and I was able to repair it with tenacious tape and its fully functional again. Highly recommend this jacket.

good for warm weather
I needed rain gear for warm weather. My Bean parka was too hot in summer. Friends who jog had raved about breathable rain wear, but I had never tried it. This jacket is nice and packable. This vendor had the best price and delivered quickly. Keep in mind, this costs more than the yellow raincoat of childhood. After the glorious reviews, this jacket is a little stuffy, but better for summer than my parka, and much less stuffy than an army surplus poncho.

Excellent, lightweight, breathable rain jacket
This is an excellent, lightweight, and somewhat breathable waterproof rain jacket. The pit zips are a very welcome addition. It's battle-tested in Acadia National Forest as well. I love it!Note that the sizing guide led me to buy a Large size, but I found it too big for my use case (I don't intend to wear more than two layers under it), so I returned it and picked up a Medium instead. Fits perfectly!

Needed a lightweight windbreaker that is also water resistant . This fits the bill to a tee. An added bonus; a tuck away hood that fits neatly into the collar.

Talla grande

Fantastic waterproof jacket
I'm 179cm tall and 80kg and ordered large size which fits great over cold weather layers and loose with just a tee shirt under.I put the Marmot PreCip to the test down the snowy's in NSW fly fishing on lake Eucumbene in heavy rain. Jacket kept me dry and faired better than a jacket I paid 3 times more, which wetted out a little at the wrist. Can't vouch for the newer model PreCip but this one is a bargain. Water beads off it like nothing else. Not sure about the durability of the dwr finish but they never last forever so if I can get a year or two out of it I'll be extremely happy.
