I saw some reviews saying "It looks nothing like the picture". I now assume they just don't know how yooperlite works.In normal light, yooperlite looks just like granite. The orange color only shows under UV light. If you have a blacklight or a UV flashlight the orange colors will show wonderfully.Even without the extra colors, though, it still seems well carved with no noticeable defects.It's worth noting that the picture used doesn't have any blue light in it and the figure looks more black than gray. I suspect they used a UV light then removed the blue channel. I was able to get a similar look in a photo editor but wanted to post images with the raw light data which looks almost exactly like what my eyes see.I'll also note that phones seem to pick up on more of the UV light so if you shine a UV flashlight on it and try to use your phone to get a picture you may be disappointed. Nonetheless, it's a cool object to show to people.

the effect is awesome if u have a black light

I bought this because I liked the red in it. I don’t know what they did to the picture to make it look like this, but my rock has no red in it. That was the deciding factor to go to this one. Very disappointed in the coloring. Very good carving though. If I had been looking for just a carving, I’d be happy, but I was specifically looking for a statue with red in it.

Looks like regular gray granite in normal light, purple and fluorescent orange under UV light. Absolutely awesome. Rocks, ROCK! Great addition to my collection. 100% recommend!
