Iv' e used these on a number of bathrooms, and are far better than those ugly louvered things. Airflow will be fine with any 4" fan. The centre is adjustable, so you can make the opening bigger.

About 102mm or 103mm for a close fit. There are circular saw blades of this size on the market.

can this be soffit fixed?

Unable to answer from personnel experience as used on a ceiling application, but depends upon depth of soffit material but worked fine on 12mm lasterboard. Is thinner material it may require appropriate packing.

Can I use this as a wall vent

Yes internally, as long as there is a large enough size hole to accommodate the vent and any associated ducting.
