Excellent RJ45 Port 5GB connections
I bought this because I wanted higher speed uplink from my router. Setup was just as you expect - plug and play. A quick note - most of the images show the router connecting to the 10 GBps port on the end, though the one next to that says "Uplink." I'm told it doesn't matter, but I plugged mine in to the "Uplink" port. All ports are occupied and work to the maximum capacity I can take them (1.4 GBps).Another quick note - one of the 2.5 GBps ports had a "soft" click upon connection. I was concerned, because I like a solid, loud, "hard" click. The ethernet cable is fully secure, however, and speeds are great.I would (and probably will) purchase this and other items from GigaPlus.

Great alternative to more expensive Netgear
Nice switch, I run it at 10G strung two of them together. Did numerous iperf tests, cant seems to slow it down. Worth the $65 on sale.

10gb and 2.5gb deliver
Works like a champ. I am using 10gb interfaces as an uplink to a larger 10g switch and to my main PC, which is also equiped with 10gb. Using DAC SPF+ connectors. The 2.5 allows some lesser devices (like my MacBook dock ) to operate at full 2.5g speed. So I am fully utilizing the 10g and 2.5g and they do deliver in the real world. The software is pretty basic and is configured thtough an old-timey web interface, but that is the case for all of these 10/2.5 chinese switches. It will do VLANs.2 thumbs up.

Works great no issues at all with the switch itself
I have bought a few of these 8+2SPF port 2.5Gb switches and they work fantastic. Never had an issue. However, I received another one today and it was clearly and opened mixed/used items sold as new. Contacted amazon and they refunded the purchase price via a gift card. Great service and will order another one soon.only deducted one star due to receiving a used item

Solid performer - SFP 10Gbps uplink ports work great
I've been using multiple of these for the better part of a year now with zero issues. Having 2 10G SFP uplinks is very useful, as I can set up cheesy daisy-chain with a single sort of "bus" 10G fiber link and these switches tapping into it. Yeah it's not "elegant" - a star config with a 10G SFP switch at the root would be better but heck it still way better than what I had before with just 1G ethernet switches everywhere. Each connected machine gets a 2.5G link into the LAN connected to the "backhaul" 10G fiber through one of these switches. The fiber then terminates in a PCIe dual port SFP 10G card in my server. Effectively I've upgraded my LAN to 2.5G everywhere while avoiding chokepoints and not having to buy expensive 10G switching gear. Some time in the future I may further add a 10G managed switch but for now using these switches with their pair of SFP cages does the trick. There are other cheap switches available here with a pair of SFP cages, but they tend to all be four port switches (six total). This device is the only one I've found which has eight 2.5G ports while still maintaining 2 10G SFP uplinks.

Does it's job
Swapped in to get full speed with 2Gb fiber, does it's job. Only had to power cycle once after 4 months.
