Great and convenient for iPad
Works great and sounds great. Using it IPad was great. Plug and play. Lightning port iPhones, not so much. A good variety of sounds. App makes the pedal way better.

Nice feature set, compact, good value
I'm a pretty bad guitar player, so take this with the proverbial grain of salt... I have several single-purpose pedals (various distortions, etc.) as well as a large Boss multi-effects unit. I was looking for a single compact pedal that had more functionality and the POD Express fits the bill. I was looking for distortion, delay, chorus, etc. and the Express has all of it. The user interface is pretty simple to figure out and use. The different effects sound pretty good. Being able to run on batteries (3 AA) is a plus. It makes the Express a nice option to throw in the guitar case for playing with friends. The main downside is the effects are controlled by a single foot switch, all on or all off. I often find myself longing for the individual foot switches for each effect on the Boss unit. Nonetheless, I find the Express a nice all-in-one portable pedal and would buy it again.

All-in-one solution
This is a great solution if you're new to amps, effects, or just unsure where to start when it comes to pedals. The effects quality is really good—Line 6 really nailed it with this one. The POD Express is super easy to set up. It's compact and portable, and you have the option to plug in your headphones to practice without bothering anyone around you. Some folks mention they don’t like the look, saying it resembles a toy. Personally, I don’t mind it at all—it’s really a matter of taste. Compared to other digital multi-effects units, I really like this one because of the physical knobs. They give you a more hands-on, tactile experience. At its current price, you really can't go wrong—even if you already have a full pedalboard. This is a hassle-free, travel-ready practice device that’s well worth having.

POD Express - Good for simple portable/practice rig
Not bad... I bought this to use as my livingroom/take to friend's house portable rig. I play it through a bluetooth speaker (aux in). I got this one because it is battery operated and small, very portable. The sounds you can get on it are good, but it's tedious to tweak patches because there is no screen (you can use the editor on pc, etc.). There is no EQ block, so you will have to tweak the tone with the amp and cab settings. No EQ and no screen are the cons here, the pros are it's size, and battery operated (3 AA batteries). I ended up getting the Mooer GE150 Pro Li which is bigger, but has more buttons, a screen, an expression pedal, and an EQ block, and drums patterns, for about the same price as the POD Express, and I haven't used the POD Express since. Still, this is a good unit, good sounds, tedious to tweak on the unit itself, but runs off of AA batteries and is very small. I would recommend this if size and portability is most important. You could also use this in a pedal board setup to get a lot of extra capability in a single pedal-sized unit.

USB-C Noise when plugged in. LINE 6 PLEASE UPDATE THE NOISE GATE.
Good but I couldn't get the noise gate to stay quiet. My old pod hd black bean is better. That being said, I did try using my pod hd as just a noise gate alone without a signal chain or amps paired to the express. OMG does that sound so good. As good as anything polished that I've ever heard in my life even compared to a kemper! I was easily able to achieve any rock god guitar tone after that with relative ease. I love classic rock and blues and this thing nails it paired with a quality noise gate! Line 6 PLEASE FIX THE NOISE GATE ON THE POD EXPRESS LIKE THE AWESOME NOISE GATE ON THE POD HD DESKTOP! CAN THIS BE DONE WITH SOFTWARE UPDATE? A TWEAK KNOB AND PRESENCE CONTROL AND THIS THING WOULD DECIMATE ALL!

Great sounds, versatile
I've come to really enjoy this pedal. Especially now with the app, you can tweak and adjust so many parameters it is really quite versatile. The IRs and amp tones are overall really good, and if you want you can adjust them to your desire. You may wish it had some more or different amp and speaker tone options, but otherwise I can't fault the sounds that are in here. I made some presets using different amps and speakers than initially are paired and am really happy with the result. The effects sound great, and each also allows lots of parameter adjustments in the app, and I love I can get all the basic tones I'd want in one portable package. Even without the amp, the amount of adjustments you can make just on the pedal is admirable, although it will take some figuring out but still nice to know you don't NEED the app at all to do a lot. Despite what another review said, there is even a looper tied to the delay switch. You can even turn the amp emulation or IRs off if you want to use with your own amp or speaker; I have a preset of just the effects turned on for that purpose when I want a simple multi-FX for easy jamming. I love as well I can assign the two buttons to different things, and that I can have one free to easily kick on the boost or drive as I want. I have a Tonex One and this thing for the money and actual ability to use it, blows that out of the water. This pedal I also haven't had issue plugging right into a PA and having the same sound as in my headphones; the Tonex needed constant adjusting to try and use in any live setting. I've been playing and gigging for years, have owned and used lots of different guitars and amps, this thing really is great. I would definitely buy again if it broke or got stolen.

So far I am really enjoying this pedal
I have been using this pedal for about a week with a Randall RD1 1-watt amp and a variety of guitars. I don’t think I could have asked for more when looking for a multi-effect practice pedal for home or maybe even for a small gig. It has the basic effects you would want and I found it pretty intuitive to dial in the tones you want. There is a surprising amount of versatility for each effect. I also really appreciate the built-in tuner. The amp emulator settings sound good and there is a bypass if you prefer to just use the tones in your amp (the effects still work even when the amp setting is off). I haven’t gotten into the presets or the looper yet, so I can’t speak to how easy it is to work with those. As for powering the pedal, you can run it on three AA batteries (they actually included some alkaline batteries in the box) or you can run a standard 9v power supply. I think the only wish I have for this pedal would be a dedicated power switch rather than the way it’s set up. The pedal turns on when you plug the instrument cable into the guitar input and turns off when you remove it. I would like the option to just switch it on and off instead. I also feel that the LED lights are a bit too bright (I colored them with a Sharpie to tone it down a bit). Overall, I am really pleased with this purchase. I still have my dedicated pedal board, but this will likely be used much more often for practice at home.

KNOWN ISSUE (please read before buying)
I've been on this planet for quite a few trips around the sun, but of all that time, this has the be the absolute 100% worse experience I have ever had with a product, and I see why it's on sale and listed as a high-return item. First, the build OK, I knew it was plastic, but as anyone knows, there are different levels of plastic. You know, there's hard/quality plastic like what some toilet seats we sit on are made of, then there's the rest. This fits under that "rest" category. The plastic is thin and cheap-looking, so much so that it completely feels and looks like a toy, especially with the colors. Look, I understand it's priced fairly low so they had to cut some corners, but this is too much. I wouldn't see this lasting more than a few years -- tops, if you're very lucky. Let's put it this way: Behringer's plastic housings look like the Taj Mahal in comparison. But, that didn't really bother me nearly as much as the next issue ... The software. Oh boy. I know your experience could be different, but mine was horrendous. I tried installing the drivers first. That was the ONLY thing that worked. I then tried downloading firmware, but it gave me a file I'd never heard of (.pxf) and Windows had no idea what to do with it (nor did I). I then tried the editor app (Pod Express Edit) but it wouldn't even launch. I continuously get the message "Cannot run with administrative privileges" as you can see from the photo. My privileges are NOT elevated so that's a bug, and judging by online forums, it's a well known bug. It has been known for at least six months and I found dozens (if not hundreds) of people with the same problem yet Line 6 has does nothing about it. My only option was to contact customer support and create a ticket. The wait time is 3 business days. It's not Thursday, so I MAY hear something back by next Tuesday. THIS. Is the reason for the Amazon message: "Frequently returned item. Check the product details and customer reviews to learn more about this item." I'm not waiting five days for a no-doubt "canned" response that tells me to restart my PC or reinstall software, which were the first things I tried. I even tried downloading the app on different user accounts, all with different privileges, it didn't help. I tried installing it on another PC. It didn't work. And if you're wondering, I have an expensive gaming PC and laptop with 64 and 32GB of RAM, respectively, along with several terabytes of space and the latest versions of Windows 11. I don't know what else to say, but the call is up to you. Your free to take your chances, but I just wanted to warn you of this issue. And I can't tell you how it sounds as I was never able to get that far.

Perfect!
I bought this as a digital effects processor for vocals. Using it for guitar and or vocals is epic it's very diverse and it's capabilities. The dashboard is awesome. It's just a great pedal it's small and does a lot. It is a plastic housing but honestly whatever.
