Can i fit a plug to this?

Yes you can fit a plug to this fitting, it comes complete with everything you need to install it, but minus the flex and 13 amp plug. it also has a cable gland for your power supply cable the flex if that's what you want to fit. The fitting is well made but I found it a bit fiddly to put together as there is quite a few pieces in the pack. But don't let that put you off, I'm just the wrong side of 74 yr old. There is two of outer clips that also act as hinges for the diffuser, if you hang it on the ceiling close to the wall the hinges wants to be nearest the wall to give you easy access to the lamp. Also these lamps will only work if installed the correct way round, (where the old fluorescent lamps worked when installed either way round.) one end of the LED lamp is marked accordingly. I hope this is of help.

Light stays permanently on and I have tried various ways, why is this?

It has to be incorrectly wired. Speak to an electrition

How long is the cable to plug in

There is no cable with this light, you wire it up yourself.

What is total light output of this fitting in lumens or lumens/watt?

Not sure of light output, l a e mine in my shed which is 12x10 and it is more than enough for that space.
