Dolphin Explorer E40 Automatic Robotic Pool Vacuum Cleaner with Wi-Fi, Wall Climbing Capability, Waterline Scrubber Brush, Ideal for Inground Pools up to 50 FT in Length

This unit is to replace my nearly 10 year old Dolphin M400. As far as I could tell, the specs from this unit to the M400 are identical. 3 motors - 2 drive and 1 impellar (same as the M400). 4500 gallons per hour of water movement (same as the M400). Cleans sides and water lines and lets you use ultra fine filters as well - (did not come with these specifically - but had them from using my M400 and they are the exact same fit) It came with just the 1 basic set of filters. I have ran it probably 5 times now - just got it 5 days ago, and so far this unit - like the M400 has no problem with pool drains. I don't use the app - so I can't say anything about that, sorry.

If I could do 0 stars I would. Right out the box this thing was having issues. Disconnecting from the wifi (its 20 feet away from the router), stopping cleaning because "something is stuck in the wheels" (there wasn't), and stopping the clean because the (power supply). Have not been able to get a hold of the seller after 3 phone calls being on hold 24 minutes, 27 minutes, and 46 minutes. Cant get a hold of anyone so cant request a refund or replacement. Do not buy this product. Its a waste of money to be this expensive and not work properly, and not be able to contact anyone for support.

This is our 9th robotic pool cleaner and have had issues with all. The 2 Wybots being absolutely horrible. The three major issues with the Dolphin is: it is tethered, very heavy and the power supply. It is so heavy that it's very difficult for my wife to handle the cleaner. The power supply can't be in direct sunlight and must be vented. Most pools are outside and think this is a significant design flaw. Lastly, they've done Nothing to improve wifi connectivity. It ONLY runs on 2Ghz and if your signal isn't maxed you will have connection issues. The good: it cleans well.

I bought the E-40 Dolphin Explorer on Sept. 17th, 2025. Worked great in the beginning. On or about April 2026 I started to notice small pieces of white plastic caught in the screen filter. I took photos of the broken off pieces and the location of where on the unit they came from. See attached pics. I checked on the warranty info posted on Amazon and it indicated "2 year warranty"...On April 1, 2026, I sent the info via email, including the photos, to customer support @ Maytronics but received no reply as of April 14th. I checked paperwork for my Dolphin and noticed that under the "Frequently Asked Questions" 7th paragraph down under the heading: "What items are considered 'wearable parts' that are NOT covered under warranty?" " The filters, tracks, and the brushes (including white climbing rings) are the "wearable parts" that are not covered by the warranty". WHAT! YOU MEAN TO TELL ME THAT THIS ISSUE IS NOT COVERED!!! This is not my first Dolphin from Maytronics. I was once ( but not now ) a loyal customer. If I was aware of the non-warranted "wearable parts" issues, I would never have purchased this E40 Dolphin. Thanks alot Maytronics, you lost me as a customer.

Wasn't sure I wanted a wifi phone controlled bot, but so far the wifi has been flawless. I knew what features I wanted and I wanted a wired bot. I would have preferred the larger basket model but what a difference in price to get all these features with large basket, $400 more for the e70 model. The e40 has active cleaning roller, manual steering which is a benefit of wifi control. I really like the manual steering control. I'm very happy with the E40 model, thus far. Both of my sons have lower end Dolphin bots and they have been very reliable for them. Now that I,m getting older, that I realize vacuuming is for the young.

If you own a pool with ledge or steps, and purchasing for waterline brush it will not work. We purchased specifically for the waterline feature, but unfortunately it does not work for us. We have reached out to manufacturer and at this time they have no products that are designed to clean steps, ledges or splash pads. We have used their products in the past and they are great, but this specific feature is not functional for us.

This think is a beast! Love it and won’t go without one. I had the dolphin before this one but this one is remote control for spot cleaning.

Purchased this unit to replace a 20+ year old Robotech model. Right off the bat, enjoying the easier filter cleaning and sturdier power line. The WiFi connection works well and it does a good job cleaning an Inground pool.
