Really handy
Almost a necklace of thread checkers. Each size is well marked and matching the thread it is supposed to. Finally able to sort my hardware into drawers so I can easily locate what I need.

Different sae and metric bolts
Bought because I work on my car and I am 73 years old drop a lot of bolts and have a lot of bolts now I can just check the ones I have and not have to go to a hardware store to find the sizes don’t have to keep trying to see if they screw in and take a chance of stripping any just found a missing bolt on the engine and quickly found a replacement already worth the cost would recommend 5 stars MIKE!😀 🚔

Aluminum, not stainless steel
So these are very nicely machined. Somewhat confusing is that the Specificatons list the material as stainless steel but the narrative description does say aluminum. And yes they are made.of aluminum. This is OK for casual use, but in a shop environment regular steel would give longer life.

Pieces Missing, Doubles Added, Defective Threads
As others have noted, this set is very inexpensive. The size markings are faint, the cable is held together with a thumbscrew, and they are aluminum without even an anodized coating. Most of those things are evident from the listing, and (by my reckoning) would warrant a 3-star review. The set is what it says it is, but what it is is not just inexpensive, but cheap.I had the same experience as others, with double of one size and another size missing. I also had at least one that would not thread into other gauges that I have. For me that knocks a mediocre 3-star product into the "virtually useless" 2-star category. Having a set that has missing or unusable pieces means you don't really have a set at all--you have an assortment in need of additional pieces to complete the set.Since you can't buy individual thread checkers, that means that you have to buy another set.I resolved the wingnut loop issue by applying a small ferrule to make a permanent loop, so now I have an assortment of non-removable threadcheckers that I can drop in the bottom of my tool bag for occasional use.If you have enough nuts and bolts that you will benefit from this kind of a set, spend a little extra and get a good quality one. You'll be happier in the long run.
