Q: i have machine washed on low and low dryer just like i do my elec blanket, mattress pads & heating pads with great results?

It says on the package to just wipe it down, not actually wash it. I put a towel over it, then the sheet, so I can wash those (and it keeps the oil off the fleece).

Q: Does this need electric plug socket? Or is it run on batteries?
