Besides being a professional musician who plays a wide variety of instruments, I'm also a certified space nerd. That made this adorable musical astronaut a "must have." It turned out to be even better than expected. First of all, it's larger than I thought, measuring about 8 1/4" high. I don't know why, but I expected it to be smaller. It's every bit as cute as I hoped, though, and a very welcome addition to my home studio. Having said all that, there's one little issue to address.My main instrument is saxophone. I also play trumpet. When I browsed these figurines, I immediately recognized one playing a saxophone and knew I must have it. Imagine my surprise to find this out-of-this-world saxophone-playing spaceman clearly labeled: 008 trumpet. Hmm. Well, I figured I couldn't lose either way, right? So, I took a chance. Sure enough, the spaceman I received is, indeed, playing a saxophone. NOT a trumpet. Saxophone.The only other oddity in all this is that the spaceman appears to be playing a wind instrument through a closed visor. But we're just going to ignore that for the sake of sheer cuteness. In a way, it makes these sci-fi musicians all the more intriguing.Strangeness aside, I'm very happy with my "trumpet" playing astronaut and will enjoy him for years to come.
