Much better than traditional sponge mop
As some other reviewers have noted, this beat a traditional sponge mop. I have used the sponge mop route for years. It resulted in also having to do a little "hands and knees" wiping up as it does tend to move debris around sometimes. This does pick things up MUCH better. And it does seem to be more friendly to the hardwood floor. We have unsealed parquet flooring, so I don't like much moisture onto the floor at all, but sometimes they still need a mopping. And this mop is great to that end. And I LOVE the fresh scent after a nice mopping! (I used Clean Day, and it just makes me HAPPY!)A few drawbacks (none of which, IMO, would preclude me from purchasing this mop):- The wringing mechanism is very tight. This may well be b/c mine is new. It's still operable, but it tends to release quick at the end (like a spring) and it splatters a touch of water sometimes, but if you're careful, you can keep the splatter in your bucket.- The mop doesn't really "roll." It shifts back and forth, but it's fixed in the mop end and does not roll. I thought it rolled (call me crazy). But in retrospect, not sure it would work as well if it works as I thought. What it does is flexes back and forth. AND the sponge head is scalloped, which really allows it to grip the floor and pick things up. It also works better (imo) than my old sponge with the "scrubber" feature. The mop head is also much more dense than a regular sponge mop. Seems to be much better quality.- The mop handle is tricky. I thought mine was broken initially. The handle didn't seem to want to stand extended. It kept releasing and collapsing down. But just give it a nice hard twist and it should stay in place. Once I did so, it stayed put for me. Of course, I've only used it once, so I really hope this doesn't loosen or become problematic with continued use. If anyone has any feedback to that end, please share!Overall, very happy with my purchase so far.Happy Mopping!

high quality mop, totally getting another one now.
Dont usually write reviews BUT:I purchased this product as a replacement for the Sweep n' Mop that I couldn't find but loved. This mop beats the crap out of the Sweep n Mop. The beauty of this product is the ridges in the mop head-as you mop it grabs AND HOLDS small bits of crumbs, pet hair, dust and dirt until you rinse the mop out. It works wonderfully. I typically vacuum to get the large chunks off the floor before mopping but I'm always amazed what this mop picks up. Also, the rollers squeeze out the mop head very tightly which doesn't leave the floors wet for long and the floors dry quickly (I have laminate floors and you shouldn't leave water on there for too long). The small bend in the handle is definately an added bonus. After reading some of the other reviews, I just have to say, I guess you just have to be smarter than your mop. Yes, you need to soak it for about 60 seconds at the most before using it-pretty easy. Also, try tightening the telescopic handle and it probably won't collapse! Come on. I've never had that problem. Anyhow, awesome mop, totally getting another one along with some replacement heads. Makes mopping easy, efficient, and pretty enjoyable.

A Good Mop
This is a well made roller sponge mop. Unlike those that you commonly find at the grocery store or big-box retailers, this is made for significant use. The heads will last a good long time if properly cared for by the user. Care is simple - soak the head for 1 minute in either clear water or your cleaning solution each time you use it. Then thoroughly rinse the head and invert to dry after each use. (I like to take about a gallon of fresh water with a bit of white vinegar to rinse & wring out the a few times when I am done with it.)The material (PVA) and rollers will give you a damp mop to use. If you have something that needs a soaking (such as dried raw egg yolk) dip the mop partially into your scrub water and go over the area. Let it soak a few minutes. Then mop as you normally would. This should get everything up for you. It also works well for washing walls prior to painting. I have used it to prep the walls using a rather wet mop, then rinse & go over tho clean up drips. (The walls had not been washed or painted in about a decade. If you wash them regularly - once a year or so - a normal damp mop should do the job well.)The mop head comes already installed - it is held in place by Phillips head screws. (If you don't have a Phillips screw driver, you will need to purchase one.) If you want to completely remove the plastic wrap from the mop head, you must do so before installing it - or in the case of the new mop, pull the head off, remove the wrap & reinstall. However, the few bits of wrap do not interfere with the performance of the mop so I do not understand why some feel this is an issue. The handle is collapsible. You can not lean on it or it will collapse. This is the only real weakness I can find in this mop - it is the point at which it will be most likely to fail. I am fairly certain that this is a design choice to make the product easier to ship. (I find it an acceptable compromise as a person who has difficulty getting out to stores - online shopping and delivery permits me to live far more independently than I would otherwise be able to do.) You can inadvertently undo the locking mechanism that holds the handle in its extended position if you frequently grab hold of the mop by the twisting mechanism while mopping. (This happened several times the first couple of uses. A slight adjustment in how I hold the mop cured this problem.)While I and hoped to find a good mop for less, this should hold up over time and will therefore proves to be less expensive in the long run - those I have spent $12 to $15 on have lasted on average two years, with mop head that last just a couple months. I have used PVA heads before & know that a well cared for PVA mop head will last about 1 year in household use. If this one holds up for three years, it will be no more expensive that the cheaper ones amortized over the three years & will clean better (PVA performs better than other materials used in sponge mops).Okay, I guess there was more to say about a sponge mop than I thought. The collapsible handle with its potential for early failure & the price are the only reasons I gave this four not five stars. If this lasts a good long time, and the handle does not fail, I would upgrade the rating.
