Good bench. Easy to assemble.

I use this in my home gym. I've never seen such a decent bench in anyones home before. I was looking for something to improve my squats on, as well as use for bench press. This is a top product. The squat aspect of it is very safe and easy to use, and didn't take all that long to construct with only myself involved. Manual recommends two persons, but took me about an hour maximum to construct the whole thing. I've been using it for a couple of months now and it's really excellent. Also purchased this with an olympic 'marcy' weight set, which I'm now squatting with ease.

The preacher curl is unusable. its terrible, its so wobbly even before use and after a few one set of reps I need to tighten it up again. The screw holding the pad are too small and have warped and the below the metal bar bends from the screws. But apart from that its a very good set... For the leg exercises be warned you need different sized weights.

I recently purchased this bench and if you are genuinely into weight training, i would not recommend this bench. I previously owned a Weider Pro 290 DC for about 5 years so this seemed a no brainer.Positives:Nice gun metal dark greyDesigned to take Olympic 7ft bars and weights (2" diameter on preacher curl/leg extender)Multiple levels on inclineNegativesPreacher PadBy far the worst part of this bench is the preacher pad and is downright dangerous. This is so poorly designed I still cannot get my head around who signed this design off. Compared to the 290 DC bench, which was fantastic, this is so poor. I generally put 100lbs on the preacher curl and on this bench, this is impossible. The downtube to the preacher pad has a smaller diameter than the metal insert. They have got around this by putting in a plastic insert. This is so weak, it is squashing and lifting out. The preacher pad is moving in all directions whilst working out. It is so poor, it would be deemed dangerous.Seat padIt is far longer than the 290 DC, and for me (5' 7") it makes using the bench seat as a stabilizer when using the leg extender an impossibility.Barbell rackBeing 5' 7" I fully appreciate I am on the short side. However, the freestanding squat rack at it's highest level is just right for me. This is a negative as for most people, who are taller than me, this would require them to stoop into the squat. The old 290 DC allowed for much taller people to be still able to remove the Barbell from the cradles at a comfortable height.There are a few other niggly items on this but, they may just be a personal issue. Overall, for the cost of this I expected everything to be spot on (as was the 290 DC) but that is not the case. Unless you are preaching about 20lbs it is an utterly pointless part of the kit.After using this bench for 2 weeks, i am gutted and i am trying to get my 290 DC repaired asap.

Got this for a home gym in my garage as I wanted to use olympic weights but didn't have space for a power cage. This fits the bill, it's heavy nice and solid and the bench and rack are desperate so you can use the for different exercises. The only thing to point out is it is still quit wide so check your measurements also the attachments for the bench tend to get in the way so I have taken them.off. finally make you.you have help to get the box.in after it is delivered, its very heavy.

Solid and robust looking piece of kit! Built on my own with no issues. I have previously had a cheaper Gorilla Sports, weights bench and it broke after very little time. This one is definitive proof that you get what you pay for. Would highly recommend for a home gym. This is a very well made bench, solid, sturdy, it wouldn't look out of place in a gym. Easy to put together took about 45 mins, excellent all round.
