NYDJ Women's Size Marilyn Straight Ankle Jeans | Slimming & Flattering Fit, Cooper, 18 Plus

As you can see from my previous orders, I wear the same jeans all the time. I spend the extra money because these jeans have always been a great fit and they were worth it. NOT this time. I bought these so that I had a new pair for the hospital, my son's new baby is coming and all mine are rather worn, so I splurged. Tried them on this morning- AFTER cutting all the tags off and hemming up an inch because- I have 10 pair of them and they ALWAYS fit the same. Never, ever had a problem. Lesson learned. These are AWFUL!! The waist is all wrong, they bind, the fabric is crummy, even the zipper is not the same! They fit like cheap crummy jeans...Can't return them now because I jumped the gun and hemmed them so they would be ready to wear since I always have to do that when I get a new pair, have done it every time, no issues.... Checked the tags and the cut on my others is 1008404SL, but this one is 1013139! I got the wrong pants. And boy do they fit different. Make sure you got what you ordered before you pack them on a trip! Why, oh why, can't the jean companies be consistent on fit? I wear the same cut everytime. I have to change jeans every few years because they decide to make 'improvements' and nothing is right anymore. Back to the drawing board.

Well, you certainly get what you pay for. These were $18 bucks and a size 20 (ha, ha - not in a million years). I can get them pulled up, past my thighs, onto my butt, without being able to fully able to to put them on. There is a huge gap, and my big belly spills out, unable to even go into these pants, let alone be contained by them.You are thinking, well this fat woman needs a larger size. Why doesn’t she just buy one, the idiot.One: I have the same style and color in a size 20 that I can get into, wear, but prefer a little looser. Inherited these from a cousin who lost weight.Two: I just bought the same style and color from Bloomingdales in 22 and guess what, I am swimming in them. But I still can’t get on theSize twenty purchased here. The size 22 is snug while putting on, but the “stretch starts to enlarge so much, they are practically falling off me. Thank goodness for the invention of belts. It was worth paying $96 to at least be able to wear them!!!Three: I always note COLOR & STYLE because I was told by my Dept Mgr at Nordstrom, supposedly You need to try each and every color of NYDJ on individually to ensure the correct fit. That means within the same styles (Barbara, Marilyn, etc) black, brown, denim corduroy...all fit differently. I have most definitely found this to be true.This style has never been my favorite. I am tall, and I like the 33”, though it’s long even for me. I actually would say I am more statuesque than stout, but somehow the straight line isn’t as flattering, as one might think. I much prefer the Barbara boot cut. I really never see the Barbara in black, though, especially on sale.I wish I had tried them on before washing (and followed my own Golden Rule), but Thank Amazon it was on $18 bucks down the drain and not $96.

After reading reviews asking if these might be knock-off or NYDJ remainders, I decided to do a little experiment. I bought three pairs of NYDJ through Amazon and then bought the same style (and color) from the NYDJ site.Amazon's purchase: The jeans bought through Amazon's vendor had MUCH thinner material. ALL three pairs bought from Amazon began to thin in the thighs after two weeks, after a month there were holes forming.NYDJ Site purchase: These jeans are still looking fairly good. They are not wearing as well as the original NYDJ I have from some years ago... but are holding up better than the amazon vendor's.Now for the purpose of those who will say 'well you wore them to often without washing' - I only wear my jeans one day then they go into the laundry. Why only one day? Because I spend a great deal of time outside and DC humidity is just awful. Most days I'm weeding the garden or just chasing dogs around my yard, so I am not over stressing the material with my work.Did I buy them to small? No, they are actually a little loose. I don't like feeling like a sausage roll and prefer my jeans to allow me to breath.Do I wash them in hot? No, my jeans are washed in warm (not hot) water using a small amount of Meyer's laundry detergent & softener then dried on low. So these jeans were worn four times before they were starting to fall apart. I had to place patches inside the jeans to prevent them from disintegrating while I was wearing them.

I do not understand the sizing of NYDJ jeans. I already have a pair of NYDJ jeans that were a gift, and they are far too large - I can pull them on without even unzipping them or unbuttoning the waist, and they feel like they'll fall down. So I ordered these jeans one size smaller - just one size smaller - and they are so small that I could not even try them on - I could not zip them! So I returned them. Good luck getting a pair that fits.

I always loved NYDJ and I was excited to find them in this size, 26. I needed them to be comfortable at the waist since I recently had a huge abdominal surgery, incision. So I wanted nothing tight. NYDJ are the best for that BUT. The cut if these jeans is terrible. Just awful. I know big ladies, I sm a big lady but my gosh these pants are deformed completely. In the hip area they have WINGS like. Horrible. It’s visible before you even put these jeans on. About 1” both sides at the hip. Really shame cause the reputation if NYDJ is at stake. NYDJ is a good company. Don’t destroy it. I haven’t purchased jeans for a while doe to my health but I am back in shopping business. Keep the NYDJ reputation up there!!

LOVE the fit of these jeans. They are a tad darker than I would like, but it doesn’t matter because of the fit. One other minor complaint...the first time I wore them, one of the metal rivets came off. My one year old niece found it, gave it to her mom. She then yelled out “WHAT IS THIS METAL THING? WHAT DOES NYDJ MEAN?”Tad embarrassing.Again - ALL can be forgiven because they are THE BEST fitting jeans. FYI - I normally wear a 20W and ordered 18W (only size they had). They still fit awesome.

I only wear NYDJ jeans, have done so for years having discovered them whilst living in the States. They fit perfectly, are flattering and terrific quality. It was great to find them at a really good price on Amazon.

Rinse is a nice dark colour. Denim is soft, stretchy and very comfortable. I’m likely in between the 16W and 18W and I got the 18W. I have a little room in them but will be great to wear. Do need to get them hemmed. Thought I ordered ankle length?

Great jeans. Always fit great. I am 5 foot 8 and somehow this time the pants were too long but for the price I could live with it
