CAYNEL Pro Trash Can for KitchenLarge 16.3 Gallon Rubbish Capacity (Black)

Purchasing this trash can felt very indulgent but I do not regret it at all. I primarily bought it for the multiple compartments and it quickly decluttered my kitchen. The bottom drawer pulls all the way out, which seemed odd to me at first, but is necessary for removing the recycling bins. I do have to take the recycling out more often than I used to but the little handles on the bins make it easier than ever before. The compost bin is great and it's such a relief to have it within another bin. I've noticed a 90% decrease in fruit flies! We'll see how that holds up come summer.The motion detection seemed entirely unnecessary to me when purchasing it but now I don't know how I ever lived without it! Every time I'm at another person's house now I catch myself waving my hand over the trash can a little bewildered. The can stays cleaner way longer because you're touching it less and we've had no issues with the motion sensor dying or being overly sensitive after 2 months of use. It does open nearly any time my boyfriend walks by it, while I sometimes have to wave my hand twice, but it's not bothersome. If for some reason it's not detecting, you can just push the "Open" button or open it by hand. Even if the motion detector stopped working as some have noted, you could still easily open the lid, and you'd still have 4 trash cans in one! So, I wouldn't stress about that if those reviews are making you nervous. I've had no such problems and even if I did...I don't think it would be that upsetting.

The media could not be loaded. What a shame! A great concept executed so poorly. The automatic open mechanism doesn't work. The sensors fail to register my waving hand unless I shake it so vigorously. Even when the sensor does activate, the lid will only open about 45 degrees, it barely allows for trash to go in. I've bought 3 different brands of batteries, 18 AAs total, and it still doesn't work. What a waste of time and money. I love the design, but the mechanical failure is unforgivable. Will have to return it.UPDATE: we were sent a new lid and the sensor works, although a little glitchy on occasion, hence the 4 stars. Also we have yet to find any trash bags that fit the main compartment well, it's always a battle to put in a new bag so that's also part of the 4 stars. Otherwise we love all the compartments and it looks great and meets all our recycling needs.

Okay so I’m a review junkie when I want a product. I also will compare like no other and leave things in my cart simmering for months until I finally figure out the perfect product. I was skeptical about this can because of the poor reviews on the lid. Mine works just fine. In fact, it’s almost TOO sensitive if I’m walking by and not careful I activate the open sensor constantly. I’ve had it for a few days and without fail it opens with the sensor and fully, maybe a second wave is needed but not usually. This has a one of a kind design (believe me I looked for something cheaper I don’t care about the sensor lid) and I’m a single gal who doesn’t create a lot of waste. For the price of a recycle bin (with a lid, because I’m in Florida bugs exist) and trash bin, and countertop compost bin (it’s like 75 ft away in the back corner of the yard and I’m not about to walk out there every time I slice a lemon for iced tea) it would basically be the same price. Super exited about this purchase. Super happy with the results. Definitely won’t shut up about it and would 10/10 recommend. I’m by myself so I don’t have this issue but the trash compartment is only 10gallons so it’s definitely smaller than the “standard” but I don’t mind personally.TL;DR : people are too hung up on the sensor (mine works perfectly fine) and not obsessed with how streamlined and AMAZING this design and look is. Get this can, flip the lid with your fingers and please people reduce, reuse, recycle and compost. Thanks!

The media could not be loaded. DOES NOT HAVE A 5 YEAR EXTENDED WARRANTY!! The bin arrived and the lid did not function. Put fresh batteries in and nothing happens. I could see a red light go on. However, the motion detector and the open and close buttons did not work. The recycling drawer separators are too small. One box instead of 2 small ones the bottom would be much better. called them up but they do not make one large container for the bottom. they said no. i returned the trashcan and ordered another one. the sensor does not work. the buttons do work. i can live with this only for the fact i have a small kitchen and this is the right size. i would consider buying a different brand trash/recycling trashcan. like said the size works for mefor those of you that are interested, i did find. a plastic recycling bin at IKEA for $10.00 it fits perfectly. the brand is " hallbar" there are 3 sizes. The smallest one fits

I've had this product for two months and love it. The motion detection is a great feature and works very well. I've not had to change the batteries yet, and the lid opens at least a dozen times a day due to my very busy kitchen traffic. Sometimes the lid works too well. Just hovering over it while reaching for an item, the lid opens. I appreciate the organization of this Trash can - the small bin for kitchen scraps and the two recycling bins below the main bin. So easy to take the smaller recycling bins when they are full to my larger recycling bins in the garage. The trash can looks beautiful too in my kitchen and is not an eyesore like so many other bins. It's easy to clean both the interior and exterior. Great concept, very functional yet very stylish. Highly recommend if you are looking for a Trash can that helps you with overall organization of trash and provide the ability to use the main compartment hands free or by using the close and open buttons. Great value too. I give it a 5.
