Defective out of box
Detector does not work. I went to local store and got a new one, no issues.

Hope we never need it
This alarm is easy to use - pop a battery in, stick it at the top of a wall or in the ceiling, and you're set. The mounting bracket makes it easy, and the most basic of home DIYers can do it without needing to schedule an electrician, since the unit is not hardwired. Test mode is nice and loud, and I appreciate that this, while a little more expensive, is from a brand I know and can trust. We still plan to get other units that synchronize - so if one goes off, they all do - but this is a great stopgap in the meantime.

Easy to install anywhere no wiring needed!
This smoke and carbon monoxide alarm is easy to install. Comes with precise directions, alarm, and hardware needed for installation. It is great that it can be installed anywhere as it does not need to be hard wired. Nice to add extra alarms for added protection in places you currently do not have the wiring without having to hire an electrician!! Takes a 9V battery which is easy to install. Also is very loud for those hard of hearing.
