Great teaching book for homeschool kids

Used this book over the summer for my daughter entering into 5th grade. Great to keep skills sharp.

The Spectrum 5th Grade Math Workbook has been a fantastic tool for my daughter. We’ve been using it to practice math concepts outside of school, and it really helps reinforce what she’s learning in class. The exercises are clear, well-organized, and gradually increase in difficulty, which gives her a sense of accomplishment and boosts her confidence. She actually looks forward to working through the pages, which is a huge win! Highly recommend for extra practice and building strong math skills.

Great addition to our homeschool math, but the videos aren’t as helpful as we wished and there’s some wrong answers in the back so I have to be careful when grading.

I needed additional practice problems for certain lessons after completing another book. This one is much better organized and laid out. It's visually appealing and user friendly for my 5th grader. The lessons meet his grade 5 curriculum for homeschooling. We have a couple different Spectrum subject books and all of them are good.

I am using this book for both my rising 7th (struggles in math) and my 4th grader (advanced learner) and I can not say enough good things about the Spectrum Math series. Information is scaffolded well, laid out clearly and concisely. Material is not dumbed down. Lesson are SO important for 6th/7th grade and the way they explain exponents and powers of 10 and percents are critical in mastering material needed in later grades. It isn't straight drilling, but offers lots of review. This book actually teaches your child how to do the problems, but you have to teach the WHY. The materials is right in line with a 5th grade curriculum. My 4th grader is advanced learner with exposure to fractions, multi-step multiplication, area models, metrics and division. This is a solid book for her to advance to the 6th grade curriculum this year and I don't feel like anything is getting missed. My 7th grader has gaps of knowledge ALL OVER THE PLACE and struggles with Math. I am taking her back to build her up. She has more exposure to upper level content, but never learned WHY she was doing things and manipulating problems a certain way. This is just what she needs to get caught back up. The schools say they remediate your kids (they don't - they just teach them how to pass the EOG test), but this book actually does teach your child (you need to help of course). If you have your child work through it consistently and with fidelity, they will either advance their knowledge one level or bridge gaps they may have missed at this level. I feel relieved to have found this series for both my girls and am excited to start the 6th grade workbook which is also high rated in my opinion.

We love this 5th grade math book! It’s been very helpful for home tutoring after school and makes the lessons much easier to understand. Highly recommended.

Spectrum has covered the grade 5 curriculum well including multiplication and division of fraction. There is a brief explanation for each topic too. It’s the best work book I have bought.

Activity book that few of explanations. If its still not convincing- you will ended up searching in youtube for an explanation per problem.
