My first impressions of the birdie blade were pretty good. It feels heavy in my hand and it has a nice compact design. This groove sharpener comes with multiple tips, which are easily stored inside the tool itself. I found that the tips wear incredibly fast though, and after some light work on just a couple of clubs, one of my tips was very visibly worn, bent, and damaged. Perhaps I was working more aggressively than I thought.

good quality
The tips are very strong and definitely help to remove the dirt and smooth out the rough edges on the groove. It has a screw on cap on both ends which protects and store the tips.IMO, I wished the unit has a clip instead of a chain, it would make it easier to use instead of removing it from the bag, but I did change it to a longer chain which helps.

Works best for cleaning
I picked this up to use on some older wedges I have. I found that it does a great job of cleaning out the grooves but I'm not so sure about "sharpening" them. I followed some instructional videos on best way to use it, applied oil, hold it at the right angle and it seems to do something, I'm just not sure how much it really can repair or cut into existing grooves. I noticed after the first use on two or three clubs the corners of the tooltip had begun to wear and round out some.It does come with 3 tooltips and the opposite end unscrews to store them so you have some options on usage

Great deep detailing tool
This tool feels very well made with good metal in the tips where it's needed. The tips have kept their edge so far, and I can feel them really scraping away anything in the grooves. I even had one club that had slight damage that I couldn't really see but I could feel when using this tool. After a few repeated scrapings in the same groove the damage was repaired. I'm very happy with this product.

It was a terrible tool! It dulled after only minutes of use. Would never purchase another like it.

Fits the grooves better
I have assembled a collection of irons and wedges over the years that work for me. Some are v shaped groove, others u shaped. This sharpener fits both and allows me to keep them at top performance and delivering optimal spin. If only I performed as well as my sharpened wedges I’d be really happy.
