Great little reference book. Used a lot in our house as we have everything except the banjo!

Quite clear and well done but explanations are difficult to interpret given the nature of the beast, so to speak.Learning any musical instrument by book is always very difficult! Lessons first then book.

I am a very basic guitar, mandolin, banjo and uke player. This book is a perfect reference for me. I had my husband cut the rigid spine off and put a spiral binder on it. This allows it to lay flat on any page.

Great for anyone into folk, bluegrass, or country, because it covers the primary acoustic fretted instruments you will be dealing with.I use it all the time.Only wish it came with a spiral binding. Then, I wouldn't have needed to cut it up to make it useable when working with the content.Always wonder why publishers are so stupid...

If you want to learn essential chords this is the book. Some may find the layout basic to their skill level initially. Those that want to step up their game will be pleasantly surprised.
