Finally got a legendary Sapo CD a very hard to find classic Latin Rock CD!
I received my Sapo Cd very quickly after placing my order. I was willing to pay a high price to complete my music collection. The only thing I didn't like that the CD case was cracked during the shipment of my CD. Glad to have it this great CD and see the beginnings of 70's Latin Rock singer and songwriter Richard Bean who is the lead vocalist on Malos's greatest hit "Suavecito".

Rare 70's Latin rock
Think of Sapo in this manner: Malo meets El Chicano & War, with the Tower of Power horns, trailing in the footsteps of Santana. So what people may not know is that the vocalist on this album was one of the founding members of Malo, Richard Bean. Yes, he's the one that wrote and sang Suavecito. He left Malo after their first album and formed Sapo. It's a great edition to your Latin rock collection. Put it next to your Abraxas album.

'70s Funky Horn Driven Latino Jazz Rock at its best!
Just when I thought I heard all the great music to be heard, comes this little gem.Imagine... Chase meets Mandrill meets El Chicano meets Cold Blood... with a dose of WAR on the side.that's what we're dealing with.Great musicianship, tight arrangements (a forte of the Latino rock musicians of the era)enhanced with funky rhodes, percussion and brass driven grooves - - the band jams, grooves, is alwayspowerful, always funky... and typical to so many groups DISGRACEFULLY OUT OF PRINT. (Thisis an also out of print Japan reissue!) As for comparison - - although the Santana, East Bay Soul and "Black Rock" sounds of that era come to mind, what makes this group unique is the overall "Tower of Power" like tightness and production... nothing is wasted... even when the members go off soloing... the groove is always tight and strong and goes somewhere. What's missing, if anything is that the songs are INCREDIBLE listening experiences, but not necessarily as catchy and memorable in the "hit" sense of the word - - hence a group that could kick a the butts of any of the groups I compared them to... but are a bit like great sex with a girl who's face sticks in your head, but who's name you can't quite remember a few ears down the line. All in all... if you like Chicano Rock circa this era, I'd put this album WAY up on your list... its funky, its driving... and although I just got it, I surmise that I will be listening to it many years down the line.

Worth the money
Listen up people!!!!!I bought this album in the 70's when I heard this group live. I got the album right away & it's still in mint condition. My favorite song is "I can't Make it" I crank up my stereo with this song and people who never heard it, ask "Who's that????"So if you can, buy it, you won"t be sorry. It's worth the money.
